Banana, Koda? “Don’t mind if I do. Would you perhaps have another?” 😂
In loving memory of John Patrick Forrest (b: 2/8/1995 d: 8/16/2017) and Francesco Forrest (b: 8/12/1997 d: 8/18/1997). Our mission at Wheatland Farm was inspired by their lives, and continues to lift up children and adults that struggle as they did. We know they watch over all of us here at the farm every day 💕

We join our Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center family in celebrating the life and legacy of our dear friend Timothy Mooney. Tim, watch over all of us, and the dear students we serve, from heaven. We love and miss you already ☘️☘️
Dear Sprout Family,
It is with deep sadness that we share that our beloved Tim passed peacefully with his family by his side this morning. Tim joined the team at Sprout in 2020 and quickly became an essential member of our family. As the first Director of Philanthropy, he pulled Sprout through the pandemic, led the celebration of our 10th anniversary and spurred us into our next decade of growth. His years of experience in the fundraising world, coupled with his incredible personality and his heart for others was the perfect fit for Sprout from day one. Over the years, Tim made what we never thought was possible happen for Sprout. And we will be forever grateful for who he was.
He was thoughtful. He knew everyone's birthday, he loved to celebrate each holiday by making it special and was quick to send a card, flowers, dinner, cupcakes or a bottle of wine to his friends when they needed it.
He was a gentleman. He'd give the shirt off his back or the chair in his office to anyone regardless of the situation. He also had a keen sense for style and he could pick the perfect piece of decor, not to mention a gala dress or tux, in under 5 minutes flat.
He was a peacemaker. He managed the complexities of donor relations, business challenges and any other bump in the road with grace under pressure and an outstretched olive branch.
He was an optimist. He believed in the power of positive thinking and wore a double pair of rose-colored glasses WHILE he drank his half-full tea every morning.
He was a hard worker. He would burn the midnight oil and rise once more with the sun to do it again for the good of others. He never once complained. He also never balked at jobs that were outside his role and sincerely sought to lend a helping hand at all times.
He was a great listener. He knew everyone's name and most of their life history. He took the time to really TALK to people and he cared about what they said.
He was an encourager. He showed up to horse shows, sports games, concerts and any other event that was important in the lives of those he cared about - he loved to cheer for his friends.
He was a room lifter. He always knew the right inspirational quote, joke or one-liner to garner a smile, a laugh or an attitude adjustment.
He was an energizer. He gave us boosts throughout the week with "Tuesday cakes," caffeine and his famous glazed donuts.
He was a true friend. To everyone. All of the time.
Tim strengthened our team, our organization and our community in ways that go beyond words. He showed us how to live, how to work and most importantly, how to love. We will miss his vibrant presence but we know his spirit will remain with us forever. We will continue his good work, holding his memory close every day - but most especially when we see four-leaf clovers, comune over donuts, share inspiring quotes and look out at the fields of Sprout - which he called his HEAVEN.
The love that our Sprout community has for Tim is a reflection of his dedication and love for us. Our hearts and prayers are with his extensive network of friends and family during this time. We would like to honor his life with a gathering at Sprout. Details will follow as soon as possible.
Home of the free, because of the brave !
Today was a day to celebrate another wonderful year of learning and growing as a farm family! Students and teachers enjoyed our last day of lessons for the 22/23 year, along with a pool party, awards and supper in the Great Barn. As we take a short break for summer, we thank God for His many blessings on our students and staff this year, and look forward to the new one to come in six short weeks. Happy summer farm fam! Posting for our Wheatland Farm neighbor Melanie Reif:
“It’s been one week today since my dog as gone missing. I believe someone has stolen him. I had a dog tracker come out and the trail kept going cold right at 287. I was hopeful that whoever has him would report him as being found, but unfortunately that hasn’t happened.
Timmy is chipped/registered under the name Jax, he is an 8 year old white Bichon. Please keep an eye out if you know anyone who suddenly “adopted” or just got a new pet that looks like him. I’m also worried someone might try to sell him to make a quick buck 😭
I have been posting on multiple pages including using paw boost. And I’ve been putting flyers up. I’m offering a reward if found (I will not disclose amount until found)
Please share and keep an eye out for him. Also, a few people we’re concerned that this was some kind of scam, I am NOT asking for any money or donations. Just information that can help me get my dog back. Thank you!”
Have you seen Jax? He’s missing from the Wheatland Farm area of route 9 and route 287. His family are very worried! Call or text us 703 574 0511 if you see him!

What an impressive showing this morning with Wheatland Farm’s ’Maya’ and Anthony Forrest bringing home a 2nd place finish in today’s 1.30m at Piedmont Jumper Classic! 🏆 After a great first day yesterday, the two entered the ring today with a clear plan of how to attack todays challenge and it surely paid off! Massive thanks to Peter Foley for all of the help leading up to this event and to G&T Equestrian for the coaching in preparation for the show and helping to put all the pieces in place on course! Maya is now enjoying a well-deserved rest and a few extra carrots 😉 Thank you to everyone who made this week possible!
Wheatland Farm’s ‘Maya’ and Anthony Forrest had a stellar start to the week at the Piedmont Jumper Classic! The morning started in the 1.20m, where the pair laid down a fast and clear first round and a nifty jump off to follow. This landed them 9th out of 32 starters! Anthony and Maya then made their 1.30m debut with poise and confidence. An unfortunate rail late in the course kept them just out of the top 10 but an amazing round overall! The two are feeling better than ever headed into tomorrow and look to continue their positive rides through the week! Huge thank you to all of the team members and supporters who have made this possible!
What an amazing weekend for both Rocking Allen (Ashby) and Smooth Sailing ⛵️ (Baby Max) at the Loudoun Hunt Horse Trials! Ashby made his big move up to prelim with a lovely dressage test scoring a 33 (with rider error), then continued to try his heart out in the show jumping taking 2 unlucky rails before proceeding to ROCK around a TOUGH prelim track with scope to spare! ⭐️⭐️His efforts today officially qualified him for an FEI CCI2* later this summer! ⭐️⭐️ Baby Max was an absolute trooper in the Beginner Novice and finished his day with not one spook or baby moment! After a lovely dressage test, Jumping took 2 fences to realize that we don’t just jump in the warm up🙄😂 1 stop at the first fence, 1 stop at the second but then an awesome round just stepping over sticks! Xc he understood the assignment and breezed around it without even batting an eye at anything! While neither made the ribbons, it was an influential weekend for both and I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the support this weekend!
