Today at SPARC ~ McLean, we threw a sizzling celebration for Jessica and Tammy’s birthday—with a hot dog twist! The party was packed with fun as participants rotated through festive stations, diving into JESS Trivia, quirky hot dog games, and creative hot dog-themed crafts. We fired up the fun even more by making our own hot dogs and burgers. The room was filled with laughter, creativity, and birthday cheer as we celebrated our favorite birthday duo in true SPARC style—ketchup and all! There was even a hot dog birthday cake!

🎨🎶 ¡Fiesta at SPARC Alexandria! 🎶🎨

Today was bursting with color, creativity, and community! Our participants had a blast exploring Spanish language and culture—from learning color words during lively rounds of Spanish bingo to crafting vibrant maracas that brought the room to life with sound and sparkle.

The highlight? Making (and tasting!) arroz con leche—a sweet rice pudding that gave everyone a chance to practice measuring, stirring, and sharing. Mathew said it best: “The arroz con leche was delightful and delicious!” 🍚✨

And of course, picking out prizes after bingo brought big smiles all around. 🎁💬

These joyful, hands-on moments are what make every day at SPARC so special. 💛

SPARC ~ Leesburg - A Splash of Color and a Whole Lot of Fun

Today was bursting with color, creativity, and contagious laughter as we embraced our theme of Art—a stroke of genius from the always-inspiring Sheila! We kicked off the morning with our
brain-boosting classics: Wordle, Connections, Hangman, Spelling Bee, and Crosswords, getting our minds sharp and ready to create. Then came the magic—Therapeutic Doodling Art took center stage,
and with paint sticks, brushes, watercolors, and imagination flowing like water, our group transformed paper into masterpieces. Each artwork shimmered with personality—glamorous, expressive, and
downright stunning. Meanwhile, the art of competition came alive as Anee and Trish went head-to-head in a fiercely funny game of Uno, drawing cards and drawing laughs in equal measure. In the kitchen, Anna and Alonzo whipped up a soul-satisfying feast of fried chicken and mac & cheese, sending delicious aromas swirling through the air. And out in our little garden patch, Joe was planting hope, one seed and splash of water at a time. From painting to playing to planting, today was a living canvas of joy—and we

Today’s DISC training with C Michael Ferraro was more than just a professional development session—it was a powerful reminder of how self-awareness fuels strong teams.

Together, we explored how each of us shows up at work: our communication styles, decision-making instincts, and how we respond to stress and collaboration. With Michael’s expert guidance, we gained deeper insight into what drives us—and how we can better connect with one another to lead with empathy, clarity, and impact.

At SPARC, we believe that investing in our team is investing in our mission. Whether we’re leading programs, writing grants, or creating inclusive spaces for adults with disabilities, understanding each other helps us serve better.

📚✨ Today at SPARC ~ Leesburg, we took learning and fun to a whole new level with our SPARC-tacular Earn & Eat Adventure!

We kicked off the day with a visit to the Brambleton Library—what a beautiful space to explore, relax, and get inspired. Then it was time to earn some SPARC cash! From building with magnetic tiles and practicing money skills to chatting with friends, walking together, and playing cards, everyone brought their A-game.

With our hard-earned SPARC dollars in hand, we browsed the Chick-fil-A picture menu to see what our budgets could buy—turns out budgeting is more fun when lunch is the prize! A delicious, well-earned meal wrapped up a day full of learning, laughter, and community.
