At The Healthy Weigh Now, our top priority has always been helping our clients achieve their optimal health. This includes keeping our clients healthy during the current coronavirus pandemic. To this end, we have implemented the following measures at the Reston, Fairfax, and Lansdowne locations:

If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other infectious symptoms please stay home. Contact your coach when you feel back to normal and they will help you resume the program.

If you are unable to attend an in-person coaching session, we will provide weekly remote coaching visits via Skype (via your cell phone or computer) or Telephone call. Food will be shipped to your home at no additional cost during this time.

"Not" Potato Salad
For 4 people

Ingredients
• 1 Head Cauliflower
• 2 Stalks Celery (diced)
• 1/4 Yellow Onion (finely chopped)
• 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (finely chopped)
• 2 Hard-Boiled Eggs (diced)
• 2 tablespoons Walden Amazin Mayo
• 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
• 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt

'Not' Potato Salad Directions
1. Add 1″ of water to the bottom of a medium pot (with lid). Insert steamer basket and fill with chopped cauliflower. Cover.
2. Steam cauliflower on the stovetop over medium-high heat until slightly tender, about 10 minutes after water begins to simmer (overcooking will develop a stronger "cauliflower" smell and a mushy texture).
3. Drain cauliflower and rinse with cold water to cool immediately. Place in a large bowl
4. Add celery, onion, parsley, and egg.
5. Stir in mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and sea salt (if desired).
6. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.

Crispy Salmon or Chicken with Herb Salad
For 2-3 people

Ingredients
• 2, 8 oz. Chicken or Salmon filets
• 1 Fresh Lemon (cut into wedges)
• 1 cup Arugula leaves
• 1 cup Baby Spinach leaves
• 1 cup Flat-leaf Parsley
• 1 cup Cilantro leaves
• 1 cup Small Basil leaves
• 1/2 cup Fresh Mint leaves
• 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
• 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
• 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt (divided)
• 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper (divided)
• 1 Cooking Spray

Crispy Salmon or Chicken with Herb Salad Directions
1. Combine the arugula, parsley, cilantro, basil and mint in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
2. Combine the olive oil, juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and garlic. Whisk to combine.
3. Heat a large cast-iron skillet (fish) or regular skillet over medium-high heat. Coat the pan with cooking spray.
4. Sprinkle the fillets with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
5. Place fillets, skin side down, in pan and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Turn fillets over and cook for another 2 minutes or until done.
7. Add the arugula mixture to plates. Top with a fillet and drizzle with the lemon juice mixture. Serve with lemon wedges.

Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts
For 4 people

Ingredients
• 2 pounds Brussels Sprouts
• 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
• 5 Cloves Garlic (minced)
• Zest and juice of 1 Lemon
• 4 pinches Sea Salt
• 4 pinches Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts Directions
1. Clean the Brussels sprouts by trimming off the ends and peeling the outer layer of the sprout off. Cut each one in half.
2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Once heated, add the halved Brussels sprouts to the pan and sauté for about 7-8 minutes on each side until the outer part is a caramelized brown and the inside is soft and fully cooked. 4. Add the garlic halfway through the cooking.
5. Reduce the heat to low and add the lemon zest, juice, salt, and pepper.
6. Stir to combine and taste. Adjust seasoning if needed.

We're so pleased to be able to help people in a way that's comfortable for them to gain their health back. Here's another fantastic review: It worked for me

I am 62 years old was 60 lbs overweight. My blood pressure was in the 140s/90s range, I was tiptoeing the line to type-2 diabetes and my LDL/cholesterol was out of control.

My Cardiologist recommended The Healthy Weigh Now. I stalled for a year, thinking I could get my weight under control by myself.

I finally swallowed my pride, admitted I couldn't do it by myself and attended the THWN presentation. I committed on the spot and am so glad I did. I lost 65lbs in 5-1/2 months and feel great. My blood pressure is now in the 110s/70s, my LDL/cholesterol had dropped significantly, and I am no longer pre-diabetic!

Now, in Phase-1 (weight loss phase) you have to eat their "product" - their term, not mine - which I jokingly referred to as Soylent Green (if you remember the old SciFi movie) for breakfast and lunch (along with your own greens/vegetables) but dinner is on you. They provide all the guidelines on what to eat, how much and what to avoid. Honestly, I liked their food and there is a decent variety. Rarely did I ever feel hungry.

I'm now in Phase-2, maintaining my weight, phased out their food and haven't put on a single pound (in fact, lost a couple more.) I also kicked the sugar addiction.

As I look back, I remember how hard I thought this would be (I'd been overweight for the last 5 years.) But honestly, it wasn't. The THWN staff was always there helping, guiding and encouraging me. They are absolutely wonderful and I thank them immensely for helping me get my health back.

Chicken with Tarragon
For 2 people

Ingredients
• Two 4-6 Oz. Boneless and Skinless Chicken Breasts
• 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
• 2 teaspoons Garlic
• 2 teaspoons Onion Powder
• 1 tablespoon Dried Tarragon
• 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Chicken with Tarragon Directions
1. Place all ingredients in a plastic bag, tie off and shake until the chicken is completely covered in the seasonings and oil.
2. Remove the chicken from the bag and place it on the grill. Cook until it reaches about 165 degrees F with a meat thermometer.
3. Serve with your favorite vegetables.

Such an incredible customer review that we feel compelled to share! "As the New Year starts and people are searching for a weight loss program that fits their needs, I wanted to share my experience with The Healthy Weigh Now (THWN). One thing I found was that there were not a lot of reviews out there for off the beaten path programs. I needed to lose quite a bit of weight and I had been hearing one advertised on the radio a lot (not THWN). After the initial body assessment (which I paid $35 for), it became all about the money to that company. In order to lose the amount of weight I needed to lose, I needed to cough up $5K now and got the heavy sell. I said no and came home crying to my husband about it and he told me that his cardiologist had told him that he had a weight loss program (THWN) and suggested we find out more. I did look at the reviews but they didn't tell me a lot (though one gave me a tip which I'll touch upon later). I finally went to a seminar in late Sept 2018. It wasn't the heavy investment that the other one was requiring. I came in on a Back to School special and the enrollment fee also included my first week of food as well as the supplements. I was going on vacation in Oct. so I ended up starting the program on 10/22/18 and I haven't regretted it one bit. Before I get into the nuts and bolts about the program, I have lost 77 pounds total. But it's not about that number but also my fat mass, my BMI, my lean muscle mass and my hydration numbers. This program is about high protein, low fat and low carb and you eat foods that you purchase weekly. I believe they have a three box minimum each week but since I liked variety and didn't know what I might want, I found myself ordering more than three boxes some weeks. Also, you will be taking supplements as part of the program. I was all in.
So I'll start with the food. You will eat their protein at breakfast and lunch. When I started, all of the products were gluten free so the selection was a little bit limiting. You had different flavors of shakes to choose from, different drinks (the hot chocolate is one of my faves), some savory options such as the soups, vegetarian chili and a vegetable curry or sloppy joe. They also had cereals, oatmeals, puddings (that can also be made as shakes), some chip options and protein bar options (however, those were limited to once a day because they have a higher carb count. Now they have products with gluten and that has expanded their line if you do not have a gluten issue. This has added more variety of soups (Chicken Noodle), pastas, wafer cookies, additional chip type options, gelatin, drinks and my favorite--pancakes (the chocolate chip -- yum). As part of lunch, you eat a salad (Walden Farms dressings help but they are an acquired taste) and 2 cups of veggies. For dinner, you have your own lean protein and another salad and veggies. Truth be told, I think I pretty much had a salad at lunch and the veggies at dinner. My end of day treat was my protein bar. You also take supplements twice a day -- lunch and dinner. And I never strayed. I didn't because every week, I saw results, not just on the scale but in the other numbers I mentioned. I made it through the holidays, birthdays, vacations and special events. If we were going out to dinner, I would check out the menu prior to going to see what I could have. Alcohol is off-limits. I am a wine drinker and I thought that I would miss it but I knew eventually I could have it back in my life in moderation.
You will probably be a little edgy or have headaches for the first few days. This is your body going into Ketosis -- fat-burning mode. I didn't experience it that bad and I gave up caffeine the same day I started. I actually found that I slept better and woke up feeling rested. I have had more energy since I have followed this plan.
So now to the coaching. I will say the one tip I got from a negative review on this was that you make your appointments in advance. I'd usually set up three months worth of appointments at a time. I like first thing on Sat. and I never had an issue getting the time I wanted. I have worked with several coaches: Jeanmarie, Jodi, Adrienne. They always spent time with me giving me tips, talking through my numbers, taking my blood pressure, making sure I wasn't having any issues. Every person I have encountered at the Reston office has been super helpful, caring and friendly.
As for exercise...I haven't incorporated it into my life. I walk a fair amount so that covered me.
Fast forward to 14 months later, I have completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 (where you slowly incorporate foods back). Phase 2 is 8 weeks and each week you add something back and begin to take away their products. I am now in maintenance and made it through the holidays staying on plan and even having a few glasses of wine. This has been life-changing for me and I highly recommend this program for those serious about getting healthy. It's a lifestyle that I am confident I can stick to. Thank you THWN... "I can. I will. I skipped the feta cheese to make this Level 1 “safe” and I am not a huge tomato person so I reversed the ratio of zucchini to tomatoes. Baked Halibut Steaks from Cooks.com 1 tsp olive oil 1 c zucchini, diced 1/2 c onion minced 1 clove garlic minced 2 c fresh tomatoes, diced 2 Tbsp fresh basic chopped 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 4 (6 Oz) halibut steaks 1/3 c feta cheese crumbled — SKIP FOR LEVEL 1 Preheat oven to 450 F. Lightly grease a medium baking dish. Heat olive oil in medium saucepan over medium heat, and stir in zucchini, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir 5 minutes or until tender. Remove saucepan from heat, mix in tomatoes, basil, salt if needed, and pepper. Arrange halibut steaks in single layer in prepared baking dish. Spoon equal amounts of the zucchini mixture over each steak. SKIP FOR LEVEL 1: Top with feta cheese - if in level 3 Bake at 450 F for 15 minutes.
