Just checkin in.....
It's time to order your BBQ!! :)
The resource tab at the BART foundationβs website makes it easy to search for HBOT clinics, neurofeedback practitioners, craniosachral therapists and photobiomoulation therapists in your area. There is a crying need for a straightforward way to locate qualified practitioners in local communities, and the BART foundation has consulted thought leaders in each field to put together the most comprehensive, robust and useful resource of its kind.
Greetings,
We are starting a new initiative which we hope is of relevance to the community, and are interested in obtaining your feedback/comments (good or bad!).
My firm is in the final stages of launching a personalized brain injury identification card. The card will be provided free to anyone who has sustained a brain injury, and will include the individualβs name, a designated emergency contact, and common symptoms of a TBI.
So, why are we doing this?
First, if you have an accident or require medical attention, the card (which can be kept in your wallet) will alert first responders to your injury.
Second, while we recognize every brain injury is different (many having no physical symptoms), some brain injuries can cause emotional, personality, or behavioral difficulties and may result in confusion, slurred speech, or an unsteady gait. These symptoms can sometimes trigger problems with authorities; some are mistakenly identified as drunk or aggressive by police officers.
We hope that carrying this card - which we plan to make sure is recognized by police - will help to reduce or defuse such confrontations.
We would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this. Do you:
a) think it is a good idea?
b) would you carry such a card?
c) do you think this is a bad idea/why?
And of course, we are happy to answer any questions.
Thank you for your time and feedback.
