So many people I speak with are people pleasers. And so many of the reasons why we are people pleasers are due to training and conditioning. And caring for people.
When you care for people, you don't want to see them hurt right? But that instinct is utilized inappropriately when we then use it as the reason to not inconvenience or disappoint someone.
Think about when you were growing up, did your parents say I'm not mad I'm just disappointed? Well meaning or not, that phrase haunts many people now in their adulthood because disappointing someone lasts longer and hurts more than making them mad.
But it is so important that you understand this simple fact, disappointing someone is not the same as harming them. And anyone who tries to make you think that it is is not trying to help you, they are trying to help themselves.
