Sometimes healing catches you in the tiniest moments.

You hear yourself think something your mother used to say.

You react exactly how someone reacted to you.

You feel guilt for setting a perfectly reasonable boundary.

You judge yourself using a standard you didn’t consciously choose.

And you think:

Where did THAT come from?

That moment isn’t proof that you haven’t healed.

It’s awareness.

You don’t control every belief or reaction that was handed to you.

But once you notice it, you get something incredibly powerful:

A choice.

Keep it.

Question it.

Rewrite it.

Let it end with you.

Breaking cycles isn’t always one enormous transformation.

Sometimes it’s catching one old thought and deciding it doesn’t get to make the next decision. 🦋

Not everything we lose during hard seasons is dramatic.

Sometimes we quietly stop doing the little things that made us feel like ourselves.

Reading.

Painting.

Music.

Gardening.

Writing.

Dancing badly in the kitchen.

Walking somewhere simply because it’s beautiful.

Making something just because we want to.

Then life gets busy.

Motherhood happens.

Survival seasons happen.

And one day we realize we can’t remember the last time we did something just because we enjoyed it.

So here’s today’s question:

What did you love before life became so serious?

Tell me below. Maybe somebody else’s answer will remind another woman of something she’s forgotten too. 🦋

Sometimes I need to ask myself:

Am I actually angry… or am I overloaded?

Because those can feel remarkably similar inside the body.

Too much noise.

Too many questions.

Too many decisions.

Too much touching.

Too many things happening at once.

And suddenly the smallest thing feels enormous.

Recognizing overload doesn’t excuse how we treat other people.

But it does give us useful information.

Maybe I don’t need to solve my entire life right now.

Maybe my nervous system needs less input.

Less noise.

Less stimulation.

A little space.

And a chance to come back down.

You got through it.

You figured it out.

You kept going.

Maybe nobody even realized how hard it was because you did what you’ve always done:

Handled it.

But surviving something doesn’t mean it didn’t affect you.

Being capable doesn’t mean it wasn’t heavy.

Being strong doesn’t mean you weren’t scared.

And getting through something doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to look back and say:

That hurt me.

Sometimes healing begins when we stop using our ability to survive as evidence that something wasn’t that bad.

You can be proud of how you got through it and acknowledge what it cost you.

Both can be true. 🦋

🦋 A Little Change of Plans!

Unfortunately, due to today’s weather, Magickal Monarchs won’t be attending Oakley’s Pumpkin Palooza as planned.

We’re disappointed to miss out on seeing everyone, but sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! 🍂

Wishing all the vendors and attendees a wonderful (and hopefully dry!) day. Stay safe, and we hope to see you at another event soon! 💜

🍂 A little Fall Comfort, handmade with love. 🍁

There’s something so special about bringing the scents of autumn into your home.

I’ve been busy behind the scenes slicing, drying, packaging, and preparing these little bags of seasonal goodness for Magickal Monarchs!

Our Fall Comfort Stovetop Potpourri is made with dried pears, oranges, rosemary, and whole cloves. 🍊🌿

Just add the ingredients to a pot of water, let it gently simmer, and enjoy the cozy aromas of fall filling your home.

One of my favorite things about creating these products is knowing that something I made with my own hands gets to become a little moment of comfort in someone else’s home. 🧡

Wife.

Partner.

Friend.

Caregiver.

So many of our identities are defined by our relationship to someone else.

And somewhere in all those roles, it’s surprisingly easy to stop asking:

Who am I when nobody needs anything from me?

What do I like?

What makes me curious?

What makes me laugh?

What would I choose if the decision only had to make me happy?

You don’t have to abandon the people you love to rediscover the person underneath all those roles.

She never actually left.

Maybe she just hasn’t been asked what she wants in a while.
