Three days of learning, connecting, and advancing women's health in Boston! 💜
I enjoyed attending the Women's Health Innovation Summit (WHIS 2026), October 13-15, at Encore Boston Harbor.
As CEO and Co-Founder of Freyya, I particularly valued the opportunity to learn from physicians, healthcare partners, regulators, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs who are working to improve women's healthcare.
A few highlights:
🔹 Investor Reverse Pitches: One of my favorite sessions! Hearing directly from investors about their investment priorities, funding criteria, and what they look for in early-stage women's health companies was particularly valuable. Thanks to the investors who then took a meeting with me.
🔹 Clinical Innovation: Excellent discussions on emerging technologies, clinical adoption, reimbursement, and new approaches to delivering women's healthcare.
🔹 Women's Health Funding: Important conversations about the persistent funding gap, evolving investment landscape, and opportunities to build sustainable businesses in women's health.
🔹 Meaningful Connections: I especially enjoyed spending time with Dr. Lauren Dickerman, Freyya's clinical consultant and pelvic floor physical therapist. Having experienced clinicians involved in developing new medical technologies is essential.
🙏 A special thank you to Rebecca Reynolds for inviting me to the Female Founders & Funders Dinner. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with women entrepreneurs and investors, share experiences, and discuss the challenges and opportunities of building women's health companies. Thank you also to the organizers and sponsors, including Foley Hoag and HSBC Innovation Banking.
🎉 Congratulations to Andrea Ippolito, CEO of SimpliFed, for winning the Most Innovative Partnership award at the Women’s Health Ovation Awards. Andrea and I were in the 2024 IGNITE cohort together and their progress has been tremendous.
💟 My biggest takeaway: Women's health innovation requires more than great technology. It takes clinical evidence, appropriate reimbursement, investment, and strong partnerships to bring meaningful solutions to patients.
At Freyya, we're committed to doing just that as we advance our rehabilitation technology toward commercialization.
Thank you to the WHIS organizers, especially Poppy Howard-Wall and everyone who contributed to these important conversations!
