One of the biggest concerns people have during a weight-loss journey is this:

“Why did my weight stop going down?”

If you’re taking Tirzepatide, a plateau does not always mean the medication has stopped working. Plateaus can be a normal part of the process, and understanding why they happen can help you stay encouraged and focused.

Here are a few common reasons weight can plateau:

✅ Your body adapts
As you lose weight, your body’s calorie needs can change. Early weight-loss results are often faster than later results.

✅ Calories can slowly creep back in
Portion sizes, snacks, liquid calories, and even “healthy extras” can add up over time and slow progress.

✅ Protein and muscle matter

There is a lot of information online about medical weight-loss injections — and unfortunately, not all of it is accurate.

At SATX Injector, I want my patients to understand that weight-loss treatment is about much more than simply taking a medication.

✅ MYTH: The injection does all the work.
FACT: Medication may help reduce appetite and increase fullness, but nutrition, hydration, movement, sleep, and consistency still matter.

✅ MYTH: You should lose a huge amount of weight immediately.
FACT: Everyone responds differently. Healthy progress is often gradual and should be monitored over time.

✅ MYTH: If the scale doesn’t move every week, the medication isn’t working.
FACT: Weight can fluctuate. Progress can also mean better portion control, improved eating habits, changes in measurements, and greater consistency.

✅ MYTH: More medication means faster results.
FACT: Dosing should be individualized and adjusted only when medically appropriate. More is not automatically better.

✅ MYTH: Weight-loss injections are for everyone.
