Being the oldest, most experienced oxygen provider in the eastern U.P. having been established in 1971. Prescription oxygen service is now owned by U.P. Superior Enterprises Inc who purchased the company in 2010 from TEGA Inc. Ron Gordon, owner, and operator of U.P. Superior enterprises Inc. Started in the DME industry in 1987 as a delivery Tech with Lung Care Plus here in Sault Ste Marie. Working
his way through the ranks of the industry, Ron had gained the experience needed to form U.P. Superior Enterprises Inc in 2007 and began the purchase process for Prescription Oxygen. The company he had been managing since 1997. With five employees and a combined 70 years of experience, Prescription Oxygen Service has evolved into a highly motivated and extremely dedicated provider of oxygen and home medical equipment for the entire eastern U.P.

This year’s Munuscong Bay Hardwater Walleye Classic- Hosted by Tom & Carley Ball Prescription Oxygen’s Kids Challenge winners! Aiden Golladay’s 7.52lb walleye, Mason Andrzejak’s .44lb perch, and Finely Guild’s 5.15lb pike all beat Ron’s biggest fish in that species! Each went home with nice fish AND $100! Great job kiddos!

Great news! The replacement CPAP machines for the recalled Respironics Dreamstations have started shipping! Once you receive yours, turn it on so the modem can pick up a signal. This will automatically send your prescribed settings to the machine! Then, give us a call at 632-3772 the next day (after 12:00 when it sends the update to us) so we can make the adjustments we need to remotely. Everything you need to send your defective machine back to the manufacturer will also be with the new machine.

🚨🚨Attention CPAP patients! 🚨🚨 We were notified by Philips Respironics that some of our patients’ CPAP machines ARE affected by the recall announced on the news. If you have a Dreamstation CPAP/BiPAP, please use the link below to enter your machines’s serial number (found on the bottom of the machine). You may also call 1-877-907-7508. It will tell you whether or not your machine is included in the recall. If it is, follow the registration process and someone from the manufacturer will reach out to you. They will be either repairing or replacing the affected machines!

Due to the recent increase of positive COVID-19 cases in our surrounding counties Prescription Oxgen will be returning to phase 1 operations. Our lobby will remain closed, office hours will be 9:00-3:00 M-F. As always, we will be available 24/7 for oxygen related emergencies. We can still provide tank refills and supply orders via our drive through window on the south side of our building.
Home deliveries will reverse back to outdoor tank exchanges. When doing necessary in home equipment set ups or pick ups, we ask that only one member of the household be present, wearing a mask and remain at least 6 feet away from our guys while they safely do their job.
Our patients safety and that of our staff remain to be, and will always be our #1 priority. We thank you for your continued support as we all try to navigate these unsettling times.

Our phone/fax and internet are down. We do have the phone lines forwarded to our on-call phone # so we will be able to answer some calls. Charter says this is an area wide issue so hopefully we’ll all be up and running soon!

On another note, I received a letter in yesterday’s mail that really rubbed me the wrong way.
It was an offer to buy our company from a national competitor (I won’t say which one) due to the “current conditions of our economy” they would be interested in “helping” us out of this troubled time.
I’m not sure the rest of the country will ever understand our sense of unity or community here in the U.P. There is a reason we are a little tougher here, we’ve always had to be. I respectfully declined their offer.

In response to the Governor’s orders regarding Covid-19:
Prescription Oxygen will remain open, however, to protect our staff and our patients, our office door will be locked. If you need to come to our office for medical supplies, a scheduled set-up, etc, please use the drive-thru window on the south side of the building and call 632-3772. A member of our staff will come to the drive thru window to assist you.
It’s imperative that we all comply to the CDC’s recommendation regarding social distancing as well as take any and all precautions we can at this unprecedented time.
