Breast cancer affects both men and women. There are several types of breast cancer, and it is important to perform a breast exam on yourself every month. Women should do this around the same time every month, away from your menstrual cycle, and men can do it any time. When you have an annual check up, it’s important to ask your doctor for a breast exam during your annual wellness exams.
Our bodies are constantly trying to get our attention. Many people experience classic symptoms such as a lump in your breast, changes in the ni**le, changes in the size or shape of your breast, changes in the skin on your breast or ni**le, discharge from the ni**le, itchy breasts, inverted ni**les, pain in the breast or underarm, a lump under the arm, shortness of breath, swelling in the hands and feet, confusion, abdominal pain, memory loss, fatigue, or bone 🦴 pain, especially in the later stages. If you notice a change in your body, do not google it, please make an appointment with your physician immediately.
Some of the risk factors for breast cancer include being an African-American female 👩🏿🎓👩🏻🏫👩🏾🦱👰🏻♀️👱🏽♀️👩🏿🔬👸🏼🤱🏾, having a family history of breast cancer, women who started their menstrual cycle early (before 12), women who have a child 🤰🏽later (after 30), women who don’t have children , Smoking 🚬 , drinking Alcohol 🍸, women or men on hormone therapy, history of birth control 💊, women with certain breast implants, being overweight, being sedentary, and low fruit 🍇 and vegetable 🥕 intake.
Please make sure that you visit your doctor at least once a year for a thorough examination. Please make sure that you perform a breast exam onc lo l a month.
