Most of us are introduced to yoga props as tools for support.

A block brings the floor closer.
A strap extends our reach.
A wall offers stability.

But props can also create feedback, resistance, contrast, leverage, and awareness.

They can give the body something to press into, respond to, and learn from, making an anatomical idea easier to experience rather than simply understand intellectually.

The question becomes less about, “Which prop should I use?”

And more about, “What am I trying to help my students notice?”

That shift is at the heart of my new course, Prop Lab.

I remember what it felt like to want to try a yoga class and have absolutely no idea where to start.

One of the reasons I keep my schedule intentionally small at The Yoga Barn is so that every class has a clear purpose and every student can receive personalized attention.
