Having a way to start fire is importantly to have in your pack. .. Not so sure about the cheap ferro rod but it’s a backup.

Exertional Heat stroke can kill. The rule of thumb is: Hot body+altered mental status....assume heat stroke is imminent. Of course there are other possibilities but you need to cool the patient at least 2-4 degrees within 30 minutes to minimize damage. In wilderness medicine, you have to be creative. Try a body bag and cold/ice water for rapid cooling. It works.
