Keeping your pets safe during car rides is rarely talked about, but is incredibly important to their well-being. We suggest using a harness, kennel, or dog car seat to keep them secure during the ride.

In addition to keeping your pets secured, regular stops for bathroom breaks, access to food and water and taking some time to get them settled to minimize their anxiety can also contribute to a happier car ride.

Will you be trying any of these tips on your next trip to see us? 🚗

No matter the situation, many of us deal with stress throughout our daily lives.

National Stress Awareness Day was created by the International Stress Management Association (IMSA) to help people recognize, manage, and reduce stress in their personal and professional lives. Fortunately, pets come with some significant health benefits. They increase opportunities to exercise, get outside, and socialize. Regular walking or playing with pets can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels.

Tell us how your best bud helps you keep stress at bay. 👅👇

Happy Howl-oween to all of our amazing patients and their people! We hope it’s fang-tastic. 🎃

While you’re all celebrating, keep the following safety tips for your four-legged family members in mind:

- Don’t feed your pets Halloween candy, especially if it contains chocolate or xylitol.
- Ensure your pet is properly identified via microchip, collar and ID tag.
- Keep lit candles out of reach.
- Provide your pet with a safe space, especially if he or she has a tendency to be nervous or aggressive.
- If you plan to put a costume on your pet, make sure it fits properly and is comfortable. Take time to get your pet accustomed to the costume before Halloween, and never leave your costumed pet unsupervised.

Did you know that our pets dream too? Studies have shown that cats and dogs can enter a phase of sleeping called REM sleep, which is when dreaming takes place.

This is why we sometimes notice them twitching or even making noises while asleep.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen your pets do while dreaming? 😴

We have been taking our dogs to the Pet Medical Center of Springfield for almost 15 years. The staff is always kind and caring towards us and our dogs. The doctors have been competent and willing to listen to our concerns. I would definitely recommend this vet practice.
Please watch for Nacho. Nacho is chipped.
Two adoption events this Saturday! 10AM-2PM Pet Medical Center of Springfield, 8054 Rolling Road 1-5PM Pet Supplies Plus - Falls Church, VA 7502 Leesburg Pike We have lots of cats and kittens awaiting forever homes; come out and meet your new best friend! Hope to see you at one of our adoption fairs on Saturday!
Dr Rosenbluth & Diane and staff treat my Izzy girl like a Queen! For years they have looked after my best friend Dogs and always give the best care and attention. Grateful to have such a wonderful family vet!
Bently is a little sad he left yesterday without a bandanna
Thank You Dr. Nichols and PMC 😸, as you can see 15 year old Brenna is feisty and playful again, you always give our boys and girls the best care !
Your office is really the best!!! The fact that Dr. Rosenbluth read a medical summary from our specialist the morning after our specialist appointment and immediately called us when he saw a possible issue with two prescribed meds, really illustrates that he genuinely cares about our pets. There is no place we would ever trust as much as Pet Medical Center.
Is there a problem with your phones? I've been calling since 8:30 this morning and first the answering machine and now no answer at all.
