❤️ HAPPY PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH!

35+ years as a physical therapist and I STILL love what I do!

I got into PT because I wanted to help people. But I had NO idea just how rewarding this career would be. 🥹

Because it’s about SO much more than pain.

It’s helping someone:

✨ Jump on the trampoline with their kids without leaking urine.

🏃‍♀️ Get back to playing their favorite sport without pain.

❤️ Experience pain-free intimacy for the first time in years.

👵 Get down on the floor and play with their grandkids.

✈️ Have the strength and endurance to travel and make memories with family.

💪 Work out again after years of pain.

🚗 Leave the house without constantly worrying about finding a bathroom.

These aren’t just physical milestones. They’re pieces of people’s lives that they get back. ❤️ And THAT is why I love being a physical therapist!

After 35+ years, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m so grateful for every patient who’s trusted me with their care and excited for the many more lives I hope to impact.

What’s something you want to get BACK to doing or something you wish you could do WITHOUT pain, leaking, or limitations?

LMK in the comments. You never know who else needs to hear that they’re not alone. ❤️

Happy Physical Therapy Month! 🥰

Get Well and Stay Well.

🚩 3 things that give me the ICK about pelvic floor PT 👀

1️⃣ Thinking a chair can fix everyone’s pelvic floor problems.

2️⃣ Assuming everyone needs Kegels.

3️⃣ Telling women to stop lifting, running, jumping, or working out instead of helping them figure out WHY they’re having symptoms.

Here’s the thing: The pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation!

Breathing, core strength, hips, posture, coordination, relaxation, and how you move all play a role.

As a pelvic floor PT, my goal isn’t just to get your symptoms to go away. It’s to help you understand your body, address what’s contributing to your symptoms, and get you back to doing the things you LOVE 💪

Yes, that can include lifting weights, running, jumping, and getting stronger!

Because pelvic floor PT should be about more than Kegels. 😉

Agree or disagree? What’s one thing you’ve been told about your pelvic floor that made you go 🤔? Drop it in the comments!

“What do you make as a pelvic floor PT?” 🤔

I make people able to:

💥 Jump again
🏃‍♀️ Run again
🏋️‍♀️ Lift again
💪 Work out again
❤️ Get back to the things they LOVE without constantly worrying about leaking, pain or pelvic floor symptoms.

Pelvic floor PT isn’t just about Kegels or learning to “live with it.”

It’s about figuring out WHY you’re having symptoms, addressing the root cause, and getting you back to doing the things you want to do.

Because the goal isn’t just a stronger pelvic floor, the goal is getting YOU back. 🙌

Get Well & Stay Well.

🌊 What’s the ONE thing I teach almost ALL of my patients & clients?

How to diaphragmatically breathe.

And no, it’s not just about taking a deep breath. 😉

Your diaphragm is a HUGE part of how your body moves, stabilizes and manages pressure.

For my pelvic floor patients, proper breathing helps coordinate the diaphragm and pelvic floor instead of constantly holding tension or pressure.

For my orthopedic patients, it can help improve rib cage and core mechanics, reduce unnecessary tension and create better movement patterns.

And for my personal training clients, learning to breathe properly helps with core control, bracing, lifting and getting the most out of their strength training.

Basically, breathing is the foundation. 🫁

Before I teach you how to lift heavier, move better or strengthen your pelvic floor, I want to make sure you know how to BREATHE.

🌊 Breathe better. Move better. Get Well & Stay Well.
