Grapefruit, agave & pistachio salad

Fruit salads are quick to whip up and one of the healthiest ways to start the day - sweeten with a sugar alternative

Ingredients:
1 pink grapefruit
1 white grapefruit
1 tbsp agave nectar
1 tsp chopped pistachio

How to prepare:
Segment grapefruits, removing as much of the pith as possible. Divide the segments between two bowls and top with with agave and pistachios.

Pan-Seared Steak with Crispy Herbs & Escarole

This easy dinner takes just 20 minutes to prepare, meaning that seared steak can be a weeknight meal. Cooking herbs in the pan with the steak releases their aroma, infusing it into the meat while creating a crispy garnish. After the steaks and herbs are pan-seared, the escarole is cooked in the same skillet, so this healthy dinner requires minimal cleanup too.

What to Eat Before a 5K | How To Fuel for Your First POHF 5K BUBBLE RUN/WALK - Labor Day September 2, 2019

What should I eat the day before a 5k race?
Good options include oatmeal with fruit, low-fat yogurt topped with fruit and granola, cereal (try to avoid high-fiber cereals like bran flakes), a bagel topped with a scrambled egg, and some fruit. Be sure to sip on fluids throughout the day. At lunch, avoid high-fat items, as they take longer to digest.

For breakfast, focus on carbs with some lean protein. You might try oatmeal with fruit, low-fat yogurt topped with fruit and granola, or a bagel topped with a scrambled egg and some fruit. Cereal is a great bet, but avoid high-fiber cereals (those with more than five grams of fiber per serving).

You have a ton on your plate these days. You're trying to stay healthy, and quick clean meals. To simplify it even further, we’ve gathered clean-eating recipe that will keep you healthy and get you out of your dinner rut.
Try something new:

Spicy Shrimp and Cauliflower Mash With Garlic Kale: Clean dinners that you can also serve on date night are hard to come by. Pair this spicy shrimp with a glass of red wine, and the two of you definitely won’t feel deprived.

INSTRUCTIONS:
For the cauliflower: Heat the olive oil in a large soup pot. Add the cauliflower and garlic. Saute for a minute or two, until the garlic is really fragrant. Add the milk and 2 cups broth. Simmer for 10 minutes or until soft. Add the white beans and mash roughly with the back of a large wooden spoon – I loved the rustic, chunky texture of this. Stir in the cornmeal and things will start to thicken a bit. Adjust the consistency by adding in the last cup of broth as needed. Stir in the salt and cheese and season to taste.
For the kale: Heat the bacon fat in a nonstick skillet over medium low heat. Add the greens and garlic and saute until softened. For the kalettes, I added a little water at the end to sort of steam them to finish them off. Remove kale and wipe out pan with a paper towel.
For the shrimp: In the same skillet, add the oil over medium heat. Pat the shrimp dry. Add to the pan and sprinkle with seasonings to taste. Cook for just a few minutes and then add a quick splash of water or broth to the pan (about 2 tablespoons) to pull the browned bits and spices into something of a saucy-coating for the shrimp. It’s delicious.
Serve the shrimp and kale over a big pile of cauliflower mash! SO yummy
