I’m not a therapist, lets talk about it. ⬇️
There are things licensed therapists are trained, qualified and legally able to do that I am not.
I don’t diagnose mental health disorders.
I don’t provide clinical mental health treatment.
I don’t position myself as a replacement for psychotherapy, psychiatry, medical care, or crisis support.
Knowing where my scope ends is part of being responsible and acting in inegrity within in this work.
I have extensive training in somatics, trauma-informed practices, nervous system regulation and embodiment. I even hold a certification in Somatic Therapy.
And sometimes, I will see things that a clinical, cognative approach might not.
Not because I’m more qualified.
Not because talk therapy doesn’t work.
It’s because I’m sitting in a different seat, offering a different approach.
The “goal” isn’t to pretend we’re all doing the same job.
It’s to know what seat we’re sitting in, stay accountable to the scope of practice, and support my clients with integrity
