My “mission field” may look different from yours….
I could share countless stories of people I have met, their battle with disease, weight loss, or making their health a priority.
There is one man’s story that I carry in my heart every day….His name is Bob.
Bob is retired yet he makes his way to the gym multiple times a week to exercise. He has an intense look. The first time I met him, I wasn’t sure how to interpret his deep stare. It was as if he could see into my soul.
Bob would approach me after class and tell me how much he enjoyed my instruction. He gave me a big smile and a fist bump to affirm our new friendship. I would joke about how his classmates shared of his being a former All State running back. I orchestrated, “footballers,” a common drill for Bob from his younger days. He would give a big smile and get to work.
One day after class, Bob walked up to thank me and asked, “Did I tell you that I played football?” I replied, “No, but your friends did.” He looked sadly at me and said, “I cannot remember.”
My heart sank.
Those that know my story know how my dad died. His battle with Alzheimer’s changed me forever. It also gave me focus to pursue health and wellness not only for myself but for others.
I am so thankful God opened the door for me to pour into men and women by helping them with healthy mindset and movement. How He creatively weaves my path with others never ceases to amaze me 💗
