Alexei just celebrated her 17th Birthday! Happy birthday sweet girl! Shei is doing ok now that she's home. She is having some side effects of her meds that are unpleasant but all in all she's better. She got her angle hair prosthetic on Thursday so we have been working on getting her used to it. She isn't completely happy with it being so dark colored and not looking as much like her hair as she thought it would but she's been playing with it to get used to wearing it.
She has been through a lot and in complete isolation but with the family. Every day is a new experience and a nurse has been coming routinely for infusions.

After several weeks of treatment and being miserable stuck in the hospital Alexei got to come home today!! Alexei's new bone marrow is doing it's job wonderfully and her white blood cell and neutrophil counts are increasing every day making it safe for her to finally leave the hospital . She is a long way from being out of the woods and done with this experience but she will be able to recover fully from the comfort of home.

I haven't had a chance to update for awhile since it's been a rough week but I'm sure you all are wondering how Alexei is doing. She has not been feeling the greatest since her conditioning treatment finished and her blood counts hit zero. She was fighting fevers and migraines for several days and had to endure many more tests and unpleasant procedures looking for signs of infections or any cause for the unusual symptoms. All results came back negative for infection and it was determined that this was all a reaction to her engraftment process. Alexei is feeling much better now and her blood counts are starting to finally show movement in an upward direction. We thank you all for your kind words, prayers and support and Alexei is comforted to know you all are thinking of her.
