Backed by my own personal experience of working in the field of Child Protection Services, gaining 80lbs in the process of being a helper and making the active decision to prioritize my health through exercise and clean eating after being told I needed physical therapy for back spasms. Also by the experience of being a single mom to three children and having too many pizza boxes to count laying around in my often times messy kitchen from the days that went long at work. Life happens fast for us, and when we’re busy serving others it’s extremely easy to forget to take care of ourselves. Our body, mind and spirit ultimately pays for it but small changes over time lead to dramatic results and you can remember why you started this career path again. Since we understand that when you are a professional helper AND parent, you never know what the day will bring and it is vital to have that Plan B ready. We understand that even though we love helping others and it is a calling, we are often selfless in our efforts and need to stop putting our own health and wellness last. We have heard everything, seen everything, and have most likely done everything for everyone else…but have to make ourselves a priority. We understand the very real condition of burn-out but are believers of resilience and change and have faith in the process of healing.
