Welcome to our newest Board of Advisors members.
Blue Mountain Cancer Foundation is proud to welcome two community leaders to our Board of Advisors. Each one brings a strong local voice for a county we serve.
Shane Laib, representing Columbia County
Shane is the Economic Development Coordinator for the Port of Columbia, where he works every day to help Dayton businesses and the wider community grow. Before joining the Port, he worked at Inland Cellular in downtown Dayton. His deep roots in Columbia County and his strong ties to its businesses make him a natural advocate for local patients and families.
Melody Tillinghast, representing Garfield County
A Pomeroy native, Melody has built a career centered on public service, community involvement, and helping youth build healthier futures. She spent 18 years with the Garfield County Sheriff's Office, eventually serving as Dispatch Supervisor. Today she is the Coalition Coordinator for Pomeroy Partners for Healthy Families at Quality Behavioral Health. She also serves as President of the Pomeroy Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Garfield County Forever Fund, and a member of the Innovia Foundation's Garfield County Leadership Council.
Melody's passion for rural health grew while she served on a grant selection committee for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She believes that where someone lives should never determine their ability to get the specialized care and support they need. She is encouraged by the groundwork Blue Mountain Cancer Foundation is laying to help families in her hometown and neighboring counties feel seen, supported, and connected to the advanced healthcare they need.
As members of the Board of Advisors, Shane and Melody will help guide how Blue Mountain Cancer Foundation awards grants across Walla Walla, Columbia, Garfield, and Umatilla counties. This includes funding for cancer screening and prevention, and financial help for patients facing the hidden costs of treatment.
Welcome Shane and Melody!
