For YEARS, I thought being bloated, sluggish, and not going to the bathroom regularly was just...
how my body worked.
Then as I got older, it became even easier to explain things away.
I'm busy.
I'm getting older.
Of course I'm tired.
This is probably just normal for me.
Except something happened when I started treating my body differently:
I started feeling better.
And once I knew what 'better' felt like, I realized just how much discomfort I had learned to live with.
Here's the funny part...
Even now, as a nurse and nurse coach, I can get so busy doing life that it takes me DAYS—or sometimes WEEKS—to realize something has shifted. 🤦♀️
I'll suddenly think:
Wait...I've been bloated a lot lately.
When did my digestion get off track?
Why have I been so sluggish?
And don't even get me started on slowing down while I eat. 😂
I'm the person who has to actively remind herself that eating lunch does NOT also need to include answering emails, checking my phone, making a list, and planning the rest of my day.
I'm still learning to:
STOP. NOTICE. GET CURIOUS.
That's what my newest blog is about.
🌿 Is Your Gut Trying to Tell You Something? 7 Signs I Wouldn't Ignore
Not because every symptom means something is terribly wrong.
And not because you need another list of foods to eliminate.
But because sometimes we've lived with something for so long that we've stopped asking:
“Is this actually normal for me—or have I just gotten used to feeling this way?”

You weren't meant to spend your life ignoring what your body is trying to tell you.
Sometimes the first step isn't trying harder.
It's simply paying attention.
