Yesterday we celebrated Lenora’s 90th birthday 🎂 she started the day off with pancakes then had chicken Alfredo, salad, garlic bread and a chocolate sundae for her noon meal. Then Marlene played the piano of some of her favorite songs, then shared a chocolate cake 🎂 with the residents at her party.

Today we celebrated Jim’s Birthday 🎂
He picked hot dogs, baked beans, pasta salad and strawberry shake for his meal and then shared a chocolate cake with white frosting with the residents after playing some bingo!

Yesterday the residents strung popcorn & cranberries to decorate our real Christmas tree 🎄 that was so kindly donated to us from the local Boy Scouts.
The residents all truly enjoyed this activity and reminiscing about how they use to do this with their families years ago.

Happy Thanksgiving from The shepherds inn staff and residents. We had a full house today with residents and their families. Best thing to be thankful for this year is that we can all be together again ♥️
I’m thankful for all the staff that took time away from their own families to care and cook for the residents and serve their families!

Yesterday these very kind gentlemen came to tsi to visit with residents that were veterans or their spouse was. They visited with them and gave them a beautiful memorial coin. The residents truly enjoyed their visit and the appreciation of their spouses service.

On Thursday we celebrated Wills birthday 🎂 he choose roast beef, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, and chocolate pie for his bday meal. He shared a red velvet cake with the residents at coffee time!

Residents had fun decorating a pumpkin for Halloween 🎃 to put in the front window.
Today they passed out ALOT of candy to all of the adorable trick or treaters! They loved getting to see all of the costumes on the kids!

Last evening we had an all staff meeting. This year for our team building game, staff had to see which group could build the tallest tower using only marshmallows and spaghetti noodles! Lots of laughs were had! We also had pizza provided to us from a past residents family. Always nice when staff can sit back and have some laughs once in a while

Yesterday we celebrated chars birthday 🎂
She had monkey bread for bkfst, fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green bean casserole, pistachio salad, and brownies for her noon meal. Then she shared a chocolate cake with the residents for her party!

Yesterday was hat day! The staff also wore a TSI shirt if they had one! Residents enjoyed all the fun hats. Then we ended the day with an amazing cookout, and it was perfect weather.
We had Hotdogs, chips, corn on the cob, watermelon, pasta salad, potato salad, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers from our garden & a drumstick for dessert 🍨

Today was backwards clothing day at tsi 😅
Quite a few of the residents participated along with staff. Follow for the rest of the weeks fun of assisted living week! Marlene has some great things planned!

It’s Assisted Living week!
We have lots of fun stuff planned for the residents this week! We’re so appreciative of our residents, their families, and our amazing staff!
Tomorrow we’re hosting a cook out for current residents and their families, and our staff.

On Friday the residents had a kernels day carnival 🎡 they enjoyed lots of games and prizes!
On Saturday some of the residents went up to watch the kernels day parade.

Yesterday the residents did a canvas painting with Claire (one of our student aides) as their teacher and Pat helped along also! They water colored the background then used crumbled grocery sacks dipped in paint to make the flowers and clouds. They really enjoyed it, and each one turned out so beautiful and unique to each residents style

Whew busy week! 😅 yesterday we celebrated Jan’s birthday. She picked ham, scalloped potatoes, squash, side salad, dinner roll, and butterscotch sundaes for her birthday meal. Then her and the residents enjoyed carrot cake 🍰 at her party 🎉

On Monday we celebrated Edith’s birthday 🎂 she picked shrimp scampi, baked potatoes, mixed veggies, Mac salad, and sherbet for dessert. For her party they played some bingo and then had lemon poppyseed cake 🍰

They had their celebration in the general space of TSI. Had family, friends & staff joined for the celebration. 🎉 wishing you both many years of committed bliss 🥰

On Friday we celebrated Gayles Birthday 🥳 she enjoyed picking out all 3 of her meals for the day, and then sharing chocolate cake 🎂 with the residents! Hope you have a year of blessings Gayle

Dick has been doing such a great job with both our flower & vegetable garden!
Elsie is enjoying using all the fresh herbs for cooking meals for the residents and the residents are waiting for fresh veggies real soon!
Hopefully it cools down a bit so the residents can go sit outside and enjoy the beauty of our garden area! We even have new patio furniture 😊

Sorry a bit behind! Last week we celebrated Kay’s birthday! She loved sharing her special day with all her friends at tsi, had family join her for pizza the evening of her bday. Had fried chicken for her bday meal and shared a yummy cake with the residents at her party.
The residents also made these adorable pot ladies during craft time with Marlene last week

Over the last week, we’ve been celebrating CNA week, also included our resident assistants and student aides! Marlene did a wonderful job planning “little” gifts for them everyday and then ending with a wonderful party with the residents with great food and punch from Elsie our kitchen supervisor!
Our CNA’s, RA’s, and student aides are the true heart and sole behind TSI, they spend the most time with our residents, notifying our nurses of any concerns, there for the residents during ups and downs, and just simply being family to our residents! Thank you for all that each everyone of you does for not only our residents but also TSI ❤️

Our back vegetable & flower garden area are both really starting to bloom 😊 residents can’t wait for some fresh veggies from the garden again this year. We will be getting some new tables and umbrellas soon (spring storm busted ours 😞) so you can enjoy the area with your loved ones

Yesterday the staff & residents of TSI had a retirement party for Keith Stern. For many years Keith provided the residents with delicious & nutritious meals. He loved to joke around with the residents, but he had a special bond with ”the golden girls”. He had gotten them shirts one year for Xmas and they all wore them to the party 😊 thank you Keith for your years of dedication!

Happy nurses week to our 4 amazing versatile nurses! Miriam our DON, Laura our RN, Marlene our LPN and helps in activities, Dawn our LPN and helps being a resident assistant! You’re all greatly appreciated, and play a special role with TSI! ❤️ we also celebrated our residents who were nurses, thank you Mae and Kay for your care as a nurse. Nurses are a true blessing to the health care team, and at TSI, we greatly appreciate our nurses

Today we celebrated Terri Mithun retirement from TSI after 23 magnificent years!!! She officially had retired this winter but we waited to have her party! It was sooo worth the wait so we could see her and find out what she’s been up to! Their were laughs, and tears. Terri you have touched so many lives, I don’t think you even realize it! Thank you for everything over the years, you were a role model employee! Don’t be a stranger and visit us often ❤️

Thursday we celebrated Bonnie’s 98th Birthday! She had lots of family joint her for her noon meal of scalloped potatoes & ham, and shared poppy seed cake with the residents at her party after they played bingo!

This week we celebrated Lorraine’s birthday 🎂 which was on Feb 13th, but we did her party/Valentine’s Day party together. It was a lot of fun, residents got to enjoy lots of chocolate candy and then chocolate cake for Lorraine’s birthday.

Obituary for Wesley Nelson at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service

Wesley Bud Nelson age 91 of Blue Earth, passed away on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at The Shepherds Inn in Wells, surrounded by his wife and children. Visitation will be Thursday from 400 600 PM at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. The funeral service will be held on Friday,

On Wednesday we celebrated Berdells 100th Birthday! She had a party with family last Sunday and then Wednesday with the residents! Dick L. Meyer jumped out of a birthday cake for her too!

Last week Laura and Marlene made lefsa with the residents! They all really enjoyed having a piece of fresh warm lefsa, and their were no leftovers! It was a nice treat and experience for them.
