“Christina Rodriguez, Yolanda Houston, Mi Yahna Robinson, Rose Chaupiz, Patt Schueler and Bettie Alford” These six DSP’s/Manager are being recognized as February’s Employees of the Month. All six worked tirelessly throughout Holly’s Crisis, most working doubles with only two staff on. Due to their dedication and hard work the women of Holly were well taken care of and are all in good health. Job well done!!

We broke ground on the site of next ECCR Group Home. We hope to begin construction on the Newtown Group Home in Wyckoff in the near future. It was a bitter cold afternoon but we are excited about moving forward with this new home.

Friday was a great day at ECCR, we hosted our first COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic with Walgreens! Residents, staff and volunteers received their first vaccine. According to ECCR CEO, Daryl Rogers, "It has been a long year and receiving the vaccinations was a big relief to family members, guardians, residents and employees. At ECCR, we are thrilled to finally turn this corner and we look forward to happier and healthier days ahead,".
Congressman Josh Gottheimer; Paul Aronsohn, NJ Ombudsman for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; and Christine Bakter, Associate Director, Office of the Ombudsman stopped by the clinic to lend their support.
Everyone enjoyed a treat from the Wicked Waffle Truck after they received their vaccine.

An exciting day at ECCR! We are having our COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for our staff and residents! The first vaccine was given to ECCR RN Linda Pevny! Duane Rogers, a pharmacist from Walgreens, administered the vaccine. Linda was joined by Daryl Rogers-ECCR CEO, and Dr. Greg Costello-ECCR Medical Director.

The Annual Christmas visit from the Maywood Knights of Columbus on December 20, 2020. The wonderful group handed out gifts and gift cards to the residents at many of our locations. They provided music and cheer and brought a very special friend...SANTA! The residents and staff were so excited! A very special thank you to the Knights of Columbus of Maywood. This wonderful group does so much to support ECCR. Thank you for bringing Christmas Cheer!

Steve has worked at ECCR for 41 years in Housekeeping!
Steve is a great asset to ECCR, he is always willing and able to help out and lend a hand. Steve never complains and always conducts himself in a professional and respectful manner. Steve cares about every one of our residents and it shows in how he responds to their needs. Everything Steve does is with the residents well-being in mind. Steve takes pride in a job well done and does his best with each and every task he takes on. For all his years here, all he has done and for his heart of gold Steve should be recognized as EOTM.

Eastern Christian Children's Retreat has been providing exceptional programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since Dec 4, 1972. Over the years our programs have grown and expanded to meet the changing needs of our residents. We now operate 14 locations in Bergen and Passaic Counties. One thing that has never changed is the unconditional love that the staff gives to every resident. The staff, residents and volunteers have become a family.

ECCR celebrated Thanksgiving with our annual staff party. Due to COVID everything was done a little differently but everyone had a great time. Thank you to our staff for all they do everyday to make sure that our residents are safe and healthy. We are very thankful to be part of the ECCR family.
