I can never say enough how proud I am of our volunteers. They have never asked for recognition for their efforts and have always gone above and beyond.
Our support is available to anyone in the local area who needs it, you do not need to be a member of a particular Facebook group to get support, in fact currently the majority of our requests are directed to us via the doctors surgery.
We made the decision to keep the group public so it could be found by anyone and even though other groups have now stopped providing support we are still going strong.

If you need support please call 01206 700904

SHEILDERS HAVE NOW HAD AN UPDATE

It is time once again to clarify our position in this support group
For those that are shielded the advice from the government is that from 6th July they can go out and meet up in groups of up to 6 people whilst remaining at a distance of 2 metres. Those that are living alone can form a support bubble with one other household. They are still being advised not to go to the shops or use public transport until 1st August.
From 1st August, shielding will be paused and people in the shielding group will be able to follow the same social distancing rules as everyone else. Those who can not work from home can go back to work as long as their workplace is covid safe.
This can be very scary for those who are shielding so we are still here for you. Please contact us if you need support.
Also as covid-19 is still around people will still need to self isolate if they get symptoms. Again do not hesitate to contact us if you need support.
This crisis has also made us all realise that there are times when people need support for various reasons, once again, do contact us if you need support.
We intend to carry on for as long as we feel people need us, and at least until the end of the year.

WE ARE STILL HERE FOR THOSE WHO NEED SUPPORT

OFFICIAL LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT

Essex Coronavirus Action is a collaboration between Essex County Council, The Essex Public Health Team, and local Facebook group owners to provide three main services during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Advice to help PREVENT coming into contact with Coronavirus and passing it on to other people, including those who are vulnerable.

Content to INFORM people about hoaxes, myths and fake news circulating social media about Coronavirus.

A service to ASSIST vulnerable members of your local community who may need help due to self-isolation or other factors by putting them and their carers / families in touch with a local Facebook group who are organising volunteering.

---

Most importantly of all, registration is now OPEN for any residents or businesses who want to volunteer in their local area. By using one of the forms below, your details will be passed directly to the group or groups that are operating near to you:

INDIVIDUALS - https://eca-info.org/volunteers

BUSINESSES - http://bit.ly/ecaformbusinesses

FACEBOOK GROUPS / VOLUNTEERING GROUPS - http://bit.ly/ecaformgroups

It is absolutely vital that we get as many people as possible to register to volunteer, and this is where you can all help by inviting EVERYONE on your Facebook friends list in Essex to like this page. By doing so, we will be able to rapidly build a large database of volunteers to support those in Essex who are going to need the community to rally round them like never before.

---

One of the easiest ways to reach out to people in the community who may need help while self-isolating is to put a note through their door with your contact details on so they can get in touch.

This printable template (four on a sheet of A4) includes our campaign’s social media links and also a direct telephone number / email for Essex Adult Social Care should they require further assistance.

GET YOUR PRINTABLE SHEET AT http://j.mp/essexhelp

---

We want the people of Essex to have a source of information that they can trust amongst the recent explosion of inaccurate, misleading, and often dangerous Coronavirus-related content that is out there. To achieve this, we have had this page 'Blue Ticked' with Facebook, and this is an enormous commitment to only sharing information that can be trusted from reputable outlets such as the BBC, the NHS, Public Health England, the World Health Organisation, and so on.

---

Finally, to make sure that our county's Facebook group admins, volunteers and residents have all of the support that they need during this difficult period, we have launched two dedicated Facebook groups.

We are running a group for members of the public in Essex to connect and support each other throughout the outbreak called Essex Coronavirus Action Support at https://facebook.com/groups/essexcoronavirusactionsupport/

Facebook group admins who are co-ordinating local volunteering efforts have their own 'super group' where they can get support and exchange ideas about what is going on in their own community called Essex Coronavirus Action Admins And Moderators at https://facebook.com/groups/essexcoronavirusactionadmins/

---

Thanks for reading, and once again please invite everyone in Essex to LIKE this page.
