The “Finance and Operations” committee of the LCPS board held a meeting last Tuesday August 2nd. The proposal to install the tower was discussed in this meeting. This is the link for the meeting

The next step is a Finance and Operation meeting that will take place September 6, 2022 at 5:00 PM. They will vote to advance the cell tower proposal to the full board meeting for a final vote that could take place as early as September 13th. If this tower gets approved by the board, it is going to be really hard to stop it.
It would be great if the Committee votes NO and it doesn’t move forward to the full board meeting. It is easier to convince 2 to vote no than to convince 5.
The members of the finance committee are: Jeff Morse, Tom Marshall and Brenda Sheridan. We can keep writing to them and ask to vote “NO” using this link.

If someone can take any action individually this is the time to do it. If someone would like to do something collectively, that would be great too. For example, we can organize a protest, get more people involved or attend the September 6 meeting. Please share your thoughts.

And with all this we want to plant this in a plan where my child will be spending 6-8 hrs a day for 9 months a year...and for 16 yrs of their life...CAN we rethink what are we planning to do with the money that FREEDOM HIGH School is planning to earn.
