First post of 2022 and it’s a VERY important one…

To everyone who’s excited about the New Year and all of its possibilities..

You don’t have to go to extremes to get AMAZING results 📢❗️

Setting new goals and wanting change is great, but this is also where a lot of us typically go wrong. ESPECIALLY when it comes to health and fitness.

I used to think that I had to change EVERYTHING that I felt didn’t belong in a fitness lifestyle or I wouldn't see results. Like sticking to a healthy diet, working out almost every day, never eat “bad” foods ever again etc. It was exhausting and extreme. I ended up with a bunch of rules and if I broke one of them.. I felt like I had failed. What I know now but didn’t know back then, was that the only thing I had failed, was to not include MYSELF.

Not including yourself or what works best for you or your life is one of the worse mistakes you can make. As long as your goals are realistic, you can get where you want to be without the extremes.

By doing small actions everyday that you feel confident doing, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem. At the end, these small actions will lead to big results ✨

I know it sounds like the way to go. I used to think so myself 🙇🏻‍♀️

Many of us believe or have been told that we need to restrict, avoid or eliminate foods from our diets in order to lose weight. Sure it’s a way that probably works fine for a while but it doesn’t mean it’s THE way, especially not if seeking sustainable long term results.

Here is a suggestion on what you can do instead 👇🏼

Rather than focusing on what to restrict, avoid or take away which tend to add unnecessary pressure or makes us want what we can’t have even more - focus on what you can ADD to your diet.
This could for example be a side salad with your lunch sandwich or some greek yoghurt with your bowl of cereal at breakfast.

The outcome:

🙅🏻‍♀️No conscious thinking about cutting foods out and therefore no pressure which brings the likelihood of a binge down.

💁🏻‍♀️ ADDING more satiating foods, that will keep you fuller for longer, often helps us eat less of the less nutritious/less satiating foods which in turn will help you consume a lower amount of calories without you even thinking about it.

With only a couple of days until Thanksgiving and with Christmas around the corner 🎄, I thought it could be helpful to share some advice on how to stay healthy and how to prevent ourselves from sliding into less healthy eating habits throughout the rest of the holiday season.

Of course you don't have to implement every single one of these right away. Habit change is hard and it takes time! So be kind to yourself and do it at your own pace.

Don't forget to share this with someone who should find it useful 💬💚
