Women's Island Retreat 5-10 May
In just under one month we'll be sharing our Immersive Island Retreat on the stunning Isle of North Uist. There are still a few spaces left if you'd like to join our exclusive retreat from 5-10 May!
We'll enjoy a week spent in pristine natural landscape, getting our toes in the sand and breathing in the fresh sea air.

Malasana (AKA Garland pose or yogi squat) is an incredible asana and one I recommend you spend some time in every day!
For anyone who’s spent time in Asia, you’ll know it’s very common to see adults and elderly people sitting like this with ease. Babies and toddlers naturally spend a lot of time like this. Yet adults on the western world often find this quite challenging… ever wondered why?
Comfortable chairs is my guess! 🪑
Chairs are great, I love nothing more than curling up in a good armchair to relax with a book, however perhaps we overuse them a little.
By constantly sitting in these perfectly ergonomically designed bum rests, we are eliminating functional movements like this from our repertoire. And like anything in this human vessel – if you don’t use it, you lose it.
Malasana has many benefits – physical benefits are that it supports opening in the hip, knees, ankles and groin – counteracting some of the tension we can create sitting in our lovely seats all day!
Another very important thing to mention is that this is also an INCREDIBLE posture for digestion, and really the natural posture our bodies should be in when going to the loo…. More on this topic I am very passionate about another day! 💩
👉 Today I challenge you to try it out for a few minutes and see how it feels for you. Perhaps do it in front of a mirror so you can observe – how low can you drop your hips? Are your heels touching the ground? What sensations arise in your body – which parts do you feel it in the most?
We are all made differently and there are many factors that could limit mobility here, however most of us could get a little closer to this if we spent a few minutes trying it everyday.

🌚 New moon rituals 🌚
Last night I felt the call to go inward. To reflect, to nourish all aspects of my being.
I nourished my physical body with an indulgent bath, nutritious food, ceremonial cacao and some gentle yin yoga. 🛁
I nourished my spiritual body too 🙏
📚 I started reading Tao Ze Ching
🎶 I basked in the healing vibrations of my singing bowls
🧘♀️ I meditated & chanted
🔮 I asked for guidance on where to focus my energy
📖 then I journalled. On my feelings & insights. I made a promise to myself that I will continue to nurture all elements of this vessel to allow energy to blossom.
I manifested. I took the visions and ideas swirling in my head and put them down on paper. Clear for myself and the universe to see. Ready to be turned in to reality 🪄
These magical moon portals can be so powerful if we tune in to them and honour their energy. 🌚

Fond memories of last week when it wasn't snowing and I could do yoga outside!!
As well as teaching yoga, I have a part time day job where I spend a lot of time sitting at the computer. Taking 5 minutes before eating lunch to move and stretch my body always gives me renewed energy and helps counteract any stiffness from sitting at a desk.
I've been leading some gentle chair yoga with colleagues which have proven really popular.
