Do you know what's crazy?
How you eat changes how much energy you get from your food
This is because digestion is nervous-system dependent
So the MOOD your in, how QUICKLY you eat, and how much you ENJOY your food.
All effect the the bodies ability to attain energy from food.
How your diet is built is only one piece of the puzzle.
The other part?
How well you digest your food.
Better energy (parasympathetic “rest & digest”):
Eating slowly → ↑ satiety hormones, better enzyme release
Calm state → improved blood flow to gut
Enjoyment/taste → stimulates digestive secretions
Worse energy (sympathetic “stress mode”):
Eating fast → poorer breakdown, more bloating
Stress → ↓ stomach acid, ↓ enzyme output
Distracted eating → weaker satiety signaling
👉 Proven effects:
Slow eating improves glucose control + fullness signals
Stress reduces gastric secretion and motility
People miss out on the benefits of even healthy meals
All because they don't know that eating healthy is more than just WHAT you eat
It's How you eat, Why you're eating the food you're eating, and especially Who you're eating the food with too.
Eating is a holistic therapy which is supposed to provide more than just calories
It can create immense enjoyment and fun!
