All the females going to the gym might have come across this stupid myth: lifting weights will make a female look bulky like men. Either you’ll hear this from fellow members, or even few of the instructors. This common misconception has prevented and scared away a lot of women from going to the gym, lifting weights, and taking care of their fitness. May gym instructors also recommend separate exercises to men and separate exercises to women, this is absurdly wrong. Exercises can't be gender specific.

Dear all female readers, lifting weights will not make you look like a man. Lifting weights or strength training will make you stronger. 💪🏻

Studies have proved that cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease. The majority of people that have heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels. Numerous published observational studies do not identify a significant positive association between dietary cholesterol and cardiovascular disease risk. Even, American Heart Association (AHA) found no link between dietary cholesterol and cardiovascular risk. It's time to take a u-turn from the warnings that kept us away from high-cholesterol foods like eggs (especially yolks), chicken, butter, ghee, cheese, etc and really focus on the importance of cholesterol in our body. Cholesterol is vital for our body. Dr. George V. Mann, M.D., in one of his study stated that: "Saturated fats and cholesterol in the diet are not the cause of coronary heart disease. That myth is the greatest deception of the century, perhaps of any century".

For me it has always been about performing better, not only at the gym but also outside the gym.
Being able to move/lift heavy weights, being able to move freely, not carrying excess fat, being fast, being able to generate force, being able to sit at work for long duration, being able to tie shoe laces without any hiccup and much more, is being able to perform better in day-to-day life.


Another lockdown, another transformation. Although, this lockdown took away more than just muscles. Happy to share this ...

Another lockdown, another transformation. Although, this lockdown took away more than just muscles. Happy to share this journey with all of you. From approximately 74 kilos to 80 something kilos, with irregular workout routine. But, the CORRECT NUTRITION and performance driven approach while lifting. Nutrition is the 🔑 !

Apart from being consistent with weight training, I make sure I am stretching regularly post weight training. As flexibility allows me to move more and move better. Poor flexibility can really decrease your performance at gym and in day to day life. A simple example for previous statement: imagine your posterior chain is tight, you can't bend down and tie your shoe lace, or pick something from ground like a pen, you'll have to sit down. You can easily find such people around you.
Moreover, the ideal posture of the body is maintained with good flexibility.

Everything matters!

I don't think touching the dumbbell with leg to push it to the bench is disrespecting the weight. It is efficiency!
Suppose you're going to do your last set of bench press with 50kgs. What will be more efficient and easy; picking it and carrying it, or simply rolling it to the bench. I'll rather use that energy on my set, maybe I get an extra rep.
On the other hand, not keeping back used weights is disrespecting the weight, people at the gym, the gym, and facility.

A guy came up to me at the gym and asked, "I really want increase my poundage on back squats, what shall I do? Should I try squating on smith machine or other squat machine or leg press?"

To get better at swimming, you swim. To get better at dribbling basketball, you dribble. To get better at cycling, you cycle. To get better in running, you run. Why not do back squats to get better at squating?

Don't look for variations and complicate things.
Keep it simple.
