Ladies over 40, let’s talk INSULIN SENSITIVITY. 👇🏼

During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes can influence how effectively your body responds to insulin, making metabolic health even more important.

But here’s what I want you to understand…

You don’t need to cut carbs, eat less, or spend hours doing cardio to improve insulin sensitivity.

Start with these 5 simple habits:

💪🏼 Strength train — Muscle plays a major role in how your body uses glucose.

🚶🏼‍♀️ Walk after meals — Even 10–15 minutes can help support healthy blood sugar.

🥗 Build balanced meals — Prioritize protein, fiber-rich carbs, and healthy fats.

🏃🏼‍♀️ Move more throughout the day — Break up long periods of sitting.

😴 Prioritize sleep — Poor sleep can negatively impact insulin sensitivity.

Your metabolic health isn’t built through extreme diets or quick fixes. It’s built through consistent daily habits.

And during midlife, those habits matter more than ever.

You don’t need to change everything overnight. Start with ONE habit and build from there. 🤍

Ladies over 40, when was the last time you had your A1C checked? 👇🏼

We talk a LOT about weight gain, belly fat, and hormones during perimenopause and menopause.

But there’s another conversation we need to be having.

BLOOD SUGAR & INSULIN SENSITIVITY.

As estrogen fluctuates and eventually declines, our bodies can experience changes in fat distribution, muscle mass, and how effectively we respond to insulin.

Add disrupted sleep, increased stress, and the natural aging process, and you can see why paying attention to metabolic health becomes increasingly important.

And here’s something I really want women to understand…

The answer isn’t automatically eating less or cutting out all your carbohydrates.

It’s learning how to build balanced meals that support your body.

🥚 Prioritize protein at each meal.

🥦 Include fiber rich vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

🍠 Don’t fear carbohydrates. Be mindful of portions and what you’re pairing them with.

🥑 Incorporate healthy fats.

🚶🏼‍♀️ Move your body consistently, including walking after meals.

💪🏼 Strength train to preserve muscle, which plays an important role in glucose metabolism.

And please stop thinking that because you’re eating “healthy,” your blood sugar must automatically be in a healthy range.

Your A1C provides information that your weight alone cannot.

If you haven’t had it checked, have a conversation with your healthcare provider about whether testing is appropriate for you.

Midlife isn’t the time to eat less and exercise more out of frustration. It’s the time to become more intentional about how you’re fueling and caring for your body.

The goal is not just to look better.

It’s to be stronger, healthier, and metabolically healthier for decades to come. 🤍

You hired a coach for a reason. 👇🏼

Maybe you’re tired of starting over. Maybe you’ve tried every diet, every workout program, and every quick fix, and you’re finally ready to do things differently.

But here’s something I want you to understand…

Hiring a coach doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. It means you have to be willing to be coached.

I see this happen more often than you might think.

Someone isn’t seeing progress as quickly as they’d hoped, so they start making their own adjustments.

A little less food.
A little more cardio.
An extra workout.
A few meals left out of their food log.

And suddenly, we’re no longer following the plan we created together.

Here’s the thing…

As your coach, I’m not expecting perfection. I’m expecting communication.

If you’re struggling with the plan, I want to know.

If you had a weekend where nutrition wasn’t a priority, I want to know.

If you’re exhausted, hungry, stressed, or finding it difficult to stay consistent, I WANT TO KNOW.

Not so I can judge you.

So I can actually help you.

Because coaching isn’t just about giving you macros and workouts.

It’s about looking at the full picture, understanding how your body is responding, recognizing patterns, and making adjustments when they’re truly needed.

And sometimes the most valuable thing I can tell you is that we don’t need to change anything just yet.

Your check-in isn’t a report card. It’s a conversation.

You don’t need to show up perfectly.

You just need to show up honestly.

That’s how we build results that last. 🤍

Here’s something I wish more people understood about fitness and fat loss. 👇🏼

Getting in shape isn’t a temporary project with an expiration date.

It’s not 12 weeks of perfect eating, intense workouts, and doing everything “right” just to go back to your old habits once you hit your goal weight.

Real transformation happens when you stop treating fitness like something you have to finish and start treating it like part of how you live.

That means:

💪🏼 Strength training because you want to stay strong as you age.

🥗 Eating to nourish your body, not just to see a smaller number on the scale.

🚶🏼‍♀️ Moving your body consistently, even when life gets busy.

🤍 Understanding that consistency doesn’t mean perfection.

And here’s the best part…

You don’t have to live in a calorie deficit forever. You don’t have to train harder and harder. And you certainly don’t have to give up the foods or experiences you love.

Your goals will evolve. Your nutrition will change. Your training will shift depending on the season of life you’re in.

But taking care of yourself? That doesn’t have an end date.

Stop chasing a finish line and start building a lifestyle you actually enjoy living.

That’s where the real transformation happens. 🤍

Strength training isn’t a “nice to have” after 35. It’s how you protect the woman you’re becoming. 💪

Here’s what most of us were never told:

Starting in our 30s, we slowly lose muscle each decade unless we use it. Bone density peaks around 30, too. Then perimenopause arrives, estrogen drops, and that loss can speed up.

You might notice it as:

A slower metabolism, even when you’re eating “right”
Belly fat that wasn’t there before
Achy joints and less trust in your body
Weaker bones and a higher risk of falls and fractures down the road

Lifting helps push back on all of it. Muscle supports steadier blood sugar, stronger bones, and a metabolism that works with you. It also protects your independence, so you can carry your own groceries, chase your grandkids, and travel on your terms.

I’m a lifter to my core. In 25+ years of coaching, I’ve watched women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s become stronger than they were at 30. It’s never too late to start.

And you don’t need to live in the gym. Two or three focused sessions a week, the right fuel on your plate, and a plan built around your body (and your joints!) can change how you feel.

That’s what we build together in 1:1 coaching: personalized strength protocols, holistic nutrition, and mindset support, with real accountability and a whole lot of grace.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. 💛
