Every tree is a temple
Every forest, a sea.
A thousand lives came before mine,
A thousand more after me.

The ancestors call out in this, the time of our reckoning,
Open up your weary heart to the call of the old ways beckoning.

We couldn't agree more!

No matter where we are in the world we can always stay connected to nature. Through the trees and the flowers, the birds and the sky. Sunrise and sunset.

If life gets too busy to notice these things, or too far out to find them, take the time to pause, consciously, and choose your path from there forwards.

Finally, after the best part of 6 months in hibernation, rest and reflection - I was finally back out in the mountains at the weekend.

The lack of nature over the past 6 months has had a profound and unignorable impact on my physical and mental well-being. But in just 3 days all of that was effortlessly dissolved away and so many of challenges and problems I’ve been encountering in life took on a different and not-so-overwhelming perspective.

Some places feel like nature has intentionally carved them out of the landscape for the sole purpose of our enjoyment. They make us feel something.

These places are important.

They connect us with something beyond our physical selves. Something ‘Other’ than the ‘You’ who you think you are.

Seek out these places, spend time in them by yourself, in silence and allow yourself to transcend ‘the personal’ and connect with the ‘transpersonal’

Eco Anxiety, Climate Grief and COVID fatigue. They all take their toll and they’re taking their toll on me these days.

It’s more important than ever to spend time in nature, grounding ourselves and I just haven’t been doing it as much as I should. Distracting and numbing rather than feeling and being. Unconsciously reacting and projecting instead of consciously experiencing and integrating.

Autumn is here and winter is approaching, the time for inner work and reflection is arriving fast. Making the time to simply be with ourselves and understand what is moving through us and why is more important now than any other time of the year.

Wild camping means something very special and particular to me. It’s the way through which I first began to feel a personal connection to nature and to recognise the emotional healing potential of the natural world.

Essentially it means the ability to find grounding and presence in myself and in my life. Finding presence doesn’t always have to be in the form of activities such as yoga or meditation - it can be so much more than that.

Wild camping to me is a moving meditation. It brings me perfectly into the present moment because it is so real. You have no time to be worrying about the future or things that have happened in the past. Instead of being stretched in all directions, your mind is brought into to here and now.

Where will I camp? Is there water? Is there shelter? Is it safe? These real questions occupy your mind and give you relief from your usual woes and worries. Wild Camping is real. I love it. It’s changed my life.

Sound on and listen to the water of this place! So refreshing. So invigorating. So peaceful. So humbling. So cleansing, calming and full of connection.
