When life is a ceremony…

You take the medicine you offer.

You face what you’ve called in and surrender to the teachings.

I am so deeply moved by the timing of this offering.
A journey into the shadow of the feminine.
Into the Mother archetype in collaboration my own mother.
Into the Step Mother initiation with my own dad’s partner’s passing.
Into the shadow of my own feminine nature….
Into the dark woods.
Into the fall session.
Through Samhain when we meet Baba Yaga; the carrier of threshold between light and dark.

May we emerge carrying both dark and light, more integrated and present to life than when we began.

The ceremony begins Sept. 28th and runs through November 16th.

So excited to bring this incredible woman into the Dance into the Dark journey to help craft these Talisman Mother dolls... Celeste is an adept craftswoman, a deep and wise soul-explorer and no stranger to the shadow realms... What an honour to bring her magic and medicine forth in this way!!

We will be crafting these dolls to remind us of our capacity to mother ourselves, to remember our own needs, to feed the healthy cycle of nurturing of our inner world and thus our capacity to show up for the lives around us.

and as a parallel note, how wild is it that she shares a name with our dear Celeste Mallett Jason... how tender and raw a time. To be looking at the shadows that I carry with 'Mother' :: in the story and the mystery :: grateful to have called in this work and so moved by the weave of life/death/transition/unknown.

Working with an elder, and my own Mum, is such a incredible gift. And one that I am excited honoured to give.

Her work in counselling; with fairytale and archetype and dreams is so rich, it changes the way I look at things...

This journey we have crafted together is a decent into the dark, through the storyline of Vasalisa the Beautiful. Inviting us to take the subtle yet powerful medicine of fairytale and how it allowing it to touch our own stories, lives and embodiment.

We follow Vasalisa, our inner heroine, as she loses her own mother, faces the step-mother and step-sisters, journeys into the dark woods and facing the wild woman of the forest, Baba Yaga, claims the light.

We gather weekly for 8 weeks and twice for daylong immersions. First making a doll talisman to embody and externalize the mother within that listens and responds to our needs, and then at the end for a final ritual with our group, to witness and be witnessed in the shadow and light within it...

A few more spots for those feeling courageous to peer into the Mother archetype, the shadow of the feminine and into the dark unknown woods...

The thrill of playing music for a group of dancing people...
Nothing compares my friends!! It is fun, exhilerating and a grand responsibility. We don't take this role lightly and also, we're always learning. And the thing is, there is so much great music and as many interpretations of that music as there are humans...

I'm so very excited to announce the first 'Dance into the Dark' journey:

A (long awaited) collaboration with my amazing mother, Alison Vida, Jungian Scholar, dream analyst and retired teacher of language and literature.

This an invitation to womxn leaders to deepen our creative capacity, inner knowing and true expression of our gifts.

Through rich discussion, personal reflection and embodied exploration, we boldly invite you to shed light into the shadows of your relationship with the feminine including your relationship to 'Mother': her light and dark qualities.

For those who are familiar with SoulSkin, this is another related module in the Imaginelle Mystery School, in which we explore the rich tapestry of Soul. Through the lens of Vasilisa the Beautiful and her encounter with Baba Yaga, the woman of the woods, we travel into the shadow to rekindle the light. Our journey culminates with an embodied ritual to cross the threshold into the dark season.

My heart has been repeated cracked at the atrocity, insanity, inhumane tragedy of what is happening in G a z a... It's hard to find words and honestly the sound that most reflects how I feel is a scream...

A N D . . . The action for this week is to offer a space for us to move through all the feels and to raise funds together for Doctors without Borders.

Alex King-Harris and I look forward to meeting you in the dance in Vancouver, at our dear friend Hassti's Conscious Dance Evening for Peace - RtR (Ride The Rhythm) event. (it is also the 1 year anniversary of this event after she completed the Dance Weavers full training with us!)

This journey, these women have grown me.
Have grown my capacity.
Taught me about true vulnerability and immense courage.
About maturity, lived wisdom and dignity.
And I learned... that although we appear powerful and we do amazing things in the world, there is a growing power in the tender courage it takes to admit that at times we each still doubt ourselves, that we each question our belonging in the circle, that we question our place, our age, our privilege, our worth and the value in simply being. In facing these questions together we build the trust and mutual support to actually, truly, expand into our wholeness and service to this world.

Yes, the journey of claiming our true seat of power not only requires a good look at the shadow and a commitment to inner acceptance and forgiveness but also the solidarity to rise together into leadership. This journey has been a lived experience of inclusive, circular feminine power and I am forever changed...

Thank you women. For standing together. For facing what is in the way, as the way... May our prayers ripple forth into the year ahead.

I'm excited to share about this festival that I am teaching Qigong at... At the centre of this organization is a MASS Global meditation for PEACE that happens online as well as in person at the festival. I heard there were 80,000 people at the last one!
