Guerilla Medicine: Radical Wellness...Against the Status Quo
It is about how we can revolutionize the way we live, the way we eat, and the way we heal. It’s about taking control of our lives, seeking wise counsel, asking questions and finding answers. It’s about taking back our personal power, 1st and foremost beginning with our health and well being. It’s what you get by getting up when you’re
down for the count, falling on your hands and knees and asking the universe for salvation, it’s about living outside the matrix. It's about love, paradigm shift, herbal medicine, radical self care and personal responsibility for your own wellness and well being

So gross and sick that eating in a hospital makes you sick!
I never believed in magic until I discovered herbalism. Ever since I first walked through that doorway 7 years ago, seeing magic has become a way of life for me. Oh, it was always there but now I can see it. 🌞
There are so many more opportunities to find magic all around us. Finding the portal paths to that reality feels now more important than ever. 🌞
One of the magical folk beliefs about herbal medicine is about how the medicine we need grows right outside our doors. I see this magic at the homes I visit, and near my own garden gate🌞
Living and working in an urban environment, it isn’t everyday one finds a swath of harvestable medicine. But today I did and it wasn’t 500ft from my front door! 🌿
Milky oats are a stage of the oat, avena sativa, plant’s growth that happens in a five day window before the seeds dry and become a bowl of our morning oatmeal. Nearby the oats, was growing an elder bush with flowers good for fever. I’ve walked this path many times and as the space has changed, or been changed by the city, medicine is appearing; magic is there. Harvesting these seeds, I cannot help but be struck by thoughts of the kind of world I want to live in. To live in a world full of abundance and sovereignty.
Milky oats are the people’s medicine and are essential in the revolution we currently find ourselves a part of, a part of history. No matter our role at this time, the need for this medicine is universal. The essence of milky oats is its ability to facilitate restoration, of the nervous system and tissues states. It replenishes what is depleted in body, in nature and in spirit. It restores us to warrior status, protecting our personal and collective futures. If this plant showing up from nowhere at this time now, if that isn’t magic, then I don’t know what is.🌿
We can literally change the world with what we plant in our yards🌿

Imbolc Blessings of Brigid/Brighid!
Goddess of fire, smithycraft, the hearth, healing, fertility, divination, poetry and inspiration. Potent regeneration is afoot, deep roots to fertile shoots in many different manifestations. It is a wet time, wet with fecundity; a time of sweet thaw, of birth fluids and mother’s milk, of rain’s benediction, of bubbling cauldron and blessed brews, of poetry and ideas fluent, of the stirring flow of life in all forms. Although Brighid is a Goddess of Fire, She is also the Saint of the Holy Wells…mother’s milk of the sweet Earth and the in the belly blessings of birth. Soon, the songs of frogs and the slow thaw of creek and lake, the heralds of fertility. My winter-dreaming, visits from my guardians. My seeds send forth the auric patterns of the shoots, the roots, the tendrils and the blossoms that are to emerge in this waxing, this growing. Thinking on the deep magick, the blessings of the fire-tender, the bard and the poet, the muse, the smithy of words and the elements, the midwife, the cool hand of the healer, the water witch, the seer, the herbalist, the wise woman and the cunning man, rootfolk and sproutstalk… bless, bless, bless! May you find yourself abundant in your blessings, may you find yourself restored and renewed. Take in deep life-loving breath, inspire inspiration. Hail the Holy Brighid!

on artist diana yevtukh's contemplative and long walks through nature, she began to think about the often overlooked empty spaces in the bark of the trees.
A growing body of research points to the beneficial effects that exposure to the natural world has on health, reducing stress and promoting healing. Now, policymakers, employers, and healthcare providers are increasingly considering the human need for nature in how they plan and operate.
Be careful the words you use to describe who you are. Be aware of the speech you whisper deep inside yourself, like a witch casting spells.
Your strength, your tenderness and hope is listening, is feeling those words.
And over time, with each word, each sentence, each spell you cast into your heart, you weaken yourself from the very center.
Remember that beautiful little child you were, remember that hopeful tender heart, you can come back to that place and allow the essence of it to grow, you can start whispering spells, good words, kind words, forgiving words until it grows and fills you up.
Your inner voice, the one you have learnt to speak, is one of the main food sources for your growth.
Let that food be good nourishment, let it be like wild medicine weeds rather than poison.
Stop and listen to yourself. How do your words make your heart feel? How does the way you treat yourself make you feel?

"Long before God the Father, there she was – God the Mother. Where did she vanish to, this great mother goddess? How did we women become so completely dispossessed? It wasn’t that I wanted to replace a male god with a female god; it wasn’t that I wanted to find a religion at all. I was simply looking for some sense that women might have worth. And I found it: there in the old stories of my own native land, I found it. Filled with images of women creating, women weaving the world into being, I took up knitting. Thread by thread, stitch by stitch, I began to knit myself back into being. I had never thought of myself as being a particularly creative soul, but I discovered that creativity was a wide-ranging affair. I simply thought about what brought me joy, and I began to cultivate it. I dug my hands into this strange foreign soil, and I began to grow things. I began to reacquaint myself with the soft animal object that was my body. Slowly, spending more and more time outside, focusing on the wisdom of my senses rather than on what was going on inside my head, I began to weave myself back into the fabric of the Earth."

''Let them
go ahead and say
That you are too sensitive
that you are too much
far too intense
that you feel too deeply
And let them
go ahead and say
that you'll never fit in
that you are strange
delusional
maybe even crazy
But let them
never say
lest they make themselves a liar
that you weren't beautiful
that you weren't poetry
that you weren't a fire
burning bright for every
goddamn thing that
ever meant anything
that you didn't test yourself
against the wilds of love and win
and that
you didn't live
and by your audacity,
touch eternity
and by live
what i mean is,
really.
fu***ng.
live.''

In herbalism we are always learning. Learning to listen more closely to the plants, learning the cycles of the moon and how to “feel” coming storms and how to listen to our ever changing bodies, minds and spirits. We’re not static creatures and if willing, we can learn on this earth plane until we pass on to the next. This week I’m learning to make a formulation. Until now all my herbal tinctures have been simplers made with one plant. This combo is a Womyn’s blend made with sage, motherwort, oatsraw and red clover and the alchemical addition of Sagittarius for strength and self actualization⚡️ Sage was harvested biodynamicaly as the moon passes through Sagittarius; It’s for easing transition into the crone phase of a woman’s life. Eliminates hot flashes, anxiety, insomnia and other symptoms related to “ the change” when the body needs buffeting against the waves of our coming power🌱⚡️
