A government proposal to increase the minimum staffing requirements at nursing homes falls short --the proposed raised standards are far too low - it translates to 1 nurse for every 44 residents and one aide for every 10 residents. For all of you who have loved ones in nursing homes, don't expect that call bell to be answered any quicker--this staffing ratio is still abysmal.

The drug which has been approved by for use in some patients still comes with a hefty price tag. While it has been shown in studies to be effective at removing amyloid plaques in brain neurons with Alzheimer's disease, it doesn’t reverse cognitive decline or prevent future deterioration.
