It's finally back!

Many photography enthusiasts, fans of pollinators like bees, and beekeepers have been eagerly waiting to share 2 personal creations again and who knows... perhaps win the 2024 adult or child first award 🏆 along with a prize valued at € 150.

🌍 As last year, the contest now spans across Europe. It aims to raise public awareness about the crucial importance of bees in pollination and the need to support beekeepers who dedicate their energy and time to caring for these insects, essential for our biodiversity.

🎂 Our experimental apiary blows out its candles.

10 years of research into the health of your bees.

For us, creating our own experimental apiary was an essential step in laying the foundations for rigorous research.

In 2014, we started with 100 colonies.
Today, we have 300.

Since 2018, we have tested over 100 active ingredients to combat varroa mites. Some have shown great promise.

📸✨ A huge well done to Gilles Annès, a true photo and beekeeping enthusiast, who has won the prestigious "Favorite photo" award from the public in the France and Europe amateur photo contest "Let’s value honey bee and apiculture" 2023! 🐝 🏆

Living in France close to Paris, Gilles Annès, won over 31% of the voting public with his original photo. Among the 20 best photos selected by the jury, representing different European nationalities, Gilles' shot shone through, leaving behind a "fierce" competition.

The aim of the contest was to highlight the day-to-day life of honey bees in the colony, and the work of the beekeeper who looks after them throughout the seasons. A well-deserved tribute to a unifying and universal passion.

We would like to thank all the amateur photographers from 14 different countries for their incredible commitment.

This year, the contest featured two exciting themes: beekeepers in action at the apiary or honey farm and honey bees in one of their seven roles within the colony.

Our new challenge for 2023 was to engage our European neighbours in building an international community of photography and beekeeping enthusiasts. The contest achieved remarkable success this year, with photographers from 13 different nationalities participating.

The juries, consisting of photographers, beekeepers, partners, and elected officials from France, had the challenging task of evaluating the finalist photographs. The images were captivating, expressing passion, creativity, and the importance of bee preservation.

🐝 Asian Hornet Spotted in the USA – What Beekeepers Need to Know! 🐝

The invasive Asian hornet, Vespa velutina, has been sighted in the United States for the first time. For those unaware, this hornet is a significant predator of honey bees and poses a real threat to bee populations. Having combated the Asian hornet invasion in France for more than a decade, we at Véto-pharma understand the gravity of this situation all too well.

For over 10 years, we have been supplying European beekeepers with a specific trap and attractant solution to target Vespa velutina. This simple trap has helped thousands of beekeepers keep their bees out of the reach of the yellow-legged hornet.
