SASS (straight arm scapular strength) is one of the most difficult techniques in progressive calisthenics, and forms the foundation of the leverage skills that make bar athletes so strong. The most recognized examples are the front lever, back lever, planche, maltese, and "human flag". The key is the development of complete control over the many muscles surrounding the scapulae (shoulder blades). The aforementioned exercises are quite complex and advanced, but there are regressions and various introductory SASS exercises that can be used to gradually build the neurological adaptations (motor engrams) to accomplish these feats of static strength. Systemic progression is the basis of all forms of development, not just the physical, not just with calisthenics. In business, it starts with basic ideas, then an outline, a business plan, networking, loans or sponsorships, before the finished product can be acquired. In matters of spirituality, it begins with a need, then comes desire, careful reflection, prayer, changes in mindset and world view, etc. progression is key in all endeavors. Only by pushing forward and growing in all areas of life can we hope to realize our full potential, and uncover the source of fulfillment. Try to advance one aspect of your life each day, and success will come to you. James 1:4 "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
