While World Trauma and EMS Day was observed on 17 October, we continue to recognise the dedicated professionals of Life Emergency Medical Services (LifeEMS) who deliver critical care when every second counts.
Our Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics, Braam du Plessis, Juan Glover and Pieter Oosthuizen, are often the first healthcare professionals to reach patients during a medical emergency or traumatic incident. Through advanced assessment, life-saving interventions and calm decision-making under pressure, they play a vital role in stabilising patients and initiating treatment before arrival at hospital.
Working seamlessly alongside our emergency team of doctors, nurses and specialists, they form an integral part of ensuring patients receive coordinated, high-quality emergency treatment from the scene through to recovery.
For any medical emergency within a 150 km radius of Bloemfontein, our LifeEMS paramedics are available 24 hours a day, providing advanced life support and emergency medical response services to the communities we serve.
Save the LifeEMS emergency number 0860 123 367 or call our emergency unit on 051 505 5200.
We thank our EMS and emergency care professionals for their proficiency, dedication and unwavering commitment to serving our community when it matters most.
