Sundays are ALWAYS my favourite day of the week — because I get to spend them with my babies at the Sanctuary. 🐾💝

But this Sunday I have some VERY exciting news…

I’m off to tick the No. 1 thing off my — THE GORILLAS IN UGANDA! 🦍🇺🇬💝

I honestly cannot contain my excitement!

First stop is Kenya for work and lecturing, and then I’m off to Uganda — Entebbe, Kisoro and finally the gorgeous Chameleon Hill Forest Lodge in the south of Uganda, owned by my dear friend Doris Meixner.

I’ve booked TWO days of gorilla trekking 🦍🦍, I’m heading into , and apparently there’ll be mountain biking, kayaking and whatever other trouble I can find along the way. 😂

A few years ago, I didn’t think I had another few HOURS ahead of me… never mind years.

So this one is MASSIVE. 💝

I’m going. I’m doing it. And I’m going to soak up every bloody second of it.

Prepare to be SPAMMED. 🦍😂💝

I meet people all the time who, when they find out how many animals I have, look at me like I’m absolutely bats**t crazy.

And they’d be 100% right. 😂

Then, without fail, comes the question:

“But are you single?”

Yes. But let’s get something straight.

I don’t rescue animals because I’m single.

I’m single because I rescue animals. 😂

I don’t go out looking for humans.
I go out looking for animals.

And somehow, the animals always seem to come looking for me too.

My life is loud, chaotic, covered in hair, ridiculously expensive and completely taken over by creatures who need me.

And you know what?

That’s what makes me happy. ❤️🐾

The Cart Horse unit is out and about on a Sunday — in fact, they’re on the road every single day, doing what they do best: looking after Cape Town’s working cart horses. ❤️🐴

We NEED organisations like this.

Please support them. Donate to them. Follow them. The work they do is absolutely incredible and these horses need them.
