🌻💚 INVISIBLE DISABILITY WEEK 💚🌻

Not all disabilities are visible, but every experience matters. 🌻

This Invisible Disability Week, we're raising awareness, encouraging understanding, and reminding our community that you can't always see what someone is going through.

Many people live with disabilities that aren't immediately noticeable, including chronic pain, neurological conditions, mental health conditions, sensory processing differences, and many others.

Just because you can't see someone's challenges doesn't mean they aren't real.

Be kind – You never know what someone may be experiencing behind the scenes.

Be patient – Everyone experiences the world differently, and sometimes a little understanding makes all the difference.

Listen without judgement – Nobody should have to prove their disability to be treated with dignity and respect.

At Your Way Disability SA, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, valued, and supported, regardless of whether their disability is visible or invisible.

Let's continue building a community where people feel safe to be themselves, where differences are respected, and where inclusion is more than just a word.

Because everyone deserves understanding, not assumptions.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting our PBS event, Before We Call It Behaviour, and what a successful and meaningful event it was.

A very big thank you to our guest speaker, Lisa Henderson from the Restrictive Practices Unit, for sharing her knowledge, insights and experience with us. Your contribution helped make the event both informative and valuable for everyone who attended.

We would also like to give a special thank you to our own amazing Lead Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, Gemma, for delivering an outstanding presentation and sharing her expertise with everyone on the day.

A huge thank you also goes to our Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Bella and Lee-ann, for their excellent presentation and for contributing their knowledge and experience to the event.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and took the time to be part of the conversations. It was fantastic to see professionals come together, share experiences, ask questions and build meaningful connections around Positive Behaviour Support and the importance of understanding behaviour.

Events like this highlight the value of collaboration, continuous learning and working together to achieve better outcomes for the people we support.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Before We Call It Behaviour such a successful event. We are incredibly proud of the day and grateful to everyone who played a part in making it possible.

From all of us at Your Way Disability SA, thank you for being part of it.
