What is Refractive Lens Exchange?

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) also known as Clear Lens Exchange, is non-laser refractive procedure performed to achieve clear vision and reduced independence from glasses or contact lenses.

Performed at ParkView Day Surgery, this procedure replaces the eye's natural lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL).

RLE is often considered for patients who are over the age of 45 and relying on glasses or contact lenses. Suitability is determined during a comprehensive assessment by their ophthalmologist.

ParkView Day Surgery offers a range of laser vision correction technology in a purpose-built ophthalmic day surgery environment.

Because every eye is unique, suitability for laser vision correction can only be determined following a comprehensive assessment with an ophthalmologist.

If you've been considering reducing your reliance on glasses or contact lenses, speak with your eye care professional about whether laser vision correction may be an option.

A cataract develops when the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, affecting the clarity of your vision. Cataract surgery replaces the cloudy natural lens with an artificial intraocular lens to help restore vision.

At ParkView Day Surgery, cataract surgery is performed as a day procedure in a purpose-built ophthalmic environment using advanced technology designed to support efficient treatment and recovery.

If you're noticing cloudy vision or have been told you have cataracts, speak with your optometrist or ophthalmologist about your options.

Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery is one of the refractive procedures performed at ParkView Day Surgery.

When a patient is under 45 years of age, but is not a candidate for laser vision correction, an intraocular lens may be implanted without removing the natural lens and to preserve the eye’s accommodation. These are called phakic lenses and are placed in behind the iris in the posterior chamber.

Every person's eyes are different, which is why a comprehensive assessment with an ophthalmologist is essential to determine the most suitable vision correction option.
