We have spent years fighting to get menopause into the conversation.

Now we need to make sure that conversation leads somewhere.

WOW. What a difference a few years can make!

From something whispered about behind closed doors to a global conversation about women's health, workplace safety, equality and economic participation.

And there is SO much worth celebrating! 🙌

✨ Australia's landmark Senate Inquiry and government investment in menopause care.

✨ New Medicare-funded menopause health assessments and more affordable treatment options.

✨ Australia's first national clinical guidelines now in development.

✨ The UK introducing workplace action plans, with mandatory requirements planned for large employers in 2027.

✨ The USA strengthening workplace protections and updating hormone therapy safety information.

✨ And in September 2026, the launch of ISO 45010, the world's first international standard providing workplace guidance on menstruation and menopause!

THIS. IS. PROGRESS.

But here is the flip side. Women are still being dismissed in medical appointments. Still carrying an unequal share of unpaid work. Still facing discrimination, financial inequality and barriers to career progression. And still navigating menopause in workplaces that were never designed with their biology in mind.

Menopause does not happen in isolation. It happens alongside careers, families, caring responsibilities, financial pressures and everything else life throws at us.

We need healthcare that understands women's bodies, workplaces that support them, and education that empowers women to advocate for themselves.

Through Mimi Moon Meno, I am proud to be part of this global movement, helping women and workplaces move from awareness to meaningful action.

We have come a LONG way, baby... But we are not finished. Not even close.

This World Menopause Day, let's celebrate the progress AND commit to doing better.

BOLD, V!SIBLE and surrounded by incredible women!

What happens when you bring 63 inspiring women together from every imaginable area of business?

A whole lot of connection, laughter, inspiration and positive energy!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Dinner, hosted by the wonderful , and what a fabulous evening!

I described it to Heidi as a fancy female founder festival, and that sums it up perfectly! From the speakers and activities to the changing seats and even the lighting, every detail was thoughtfully considered.

And the women! So many incredible stories, ideas and businesses. Women backing themselves and cheering each other on.

A special shout-out to Kirsty Clark from Pi on a Plate, who led a brilliant goal-setting exercise. I was lucky enough to sit beside Kirsty, and between her travel adventures and puppy stories, our end of the table was giggling! Kirsty, there is definitely a comedy side hustle waiting for you! 😂

The evening also got me thinking about what being BOLD & V!SIBLE means to me.

For me, it is about normalising conversations around menopause and speaking loudly and unapologetically about the need for biology-informed workplaces.

It is about challenging outdated thinking, breaking the silence and continuing to show up, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Because being bold is not about being the loudest woman in the room. It is about having the courage to use your voice for something that matters.

A huge thank you to Heidi for creating such a warm, welcoming and inspiring space, and to all the fabulous women I met along the way.

Already looking forward to the Christmas drinks! 🥂

Here is to being bold, being visible and making space for every woman to shine! ✨

What if the thing you have spent your whole life thinking was wrong with you....

Was simply something you had not yet understood?

October is ADHD Awareness Month, and this year it is particularly personal.

Behind the scenes, I have been on a journey towards an ADHD diagnosis, with AuDHD (autism and ADHD) now looking like a possibility.

It has been a lot to wrap my head around.

I have been dyslexic my whole life. Growing up different in the 1980s was not easy, and I have spent far too many years trying to fit in, masking parts of myself and wondering why some things have always felt so bloody hard.

Then I revisited my old school reports. Decades later, those comments certainly read differently! 👉 Swipe through.

Someone close to me recently said, "It is a gift. You can stop wondering."

And they are right. I feel a sense of relief if I am being honest.

If I were neurotypical, would I have taken the risks I have taken? Achieved what I have achieved? Or collected this extraordinary tapestry of people who love me for the definitely NOT boring person I am?

I don't think so. And you know what? I am cool with who I am. Most of the time, now I am 47!

My assessment journey is not over, but I am learning to replace self-criticism with understanding.

And to every woman who is wondering, struggling or questioning, please seek professional support. Do not rely on self-diagnosis. Or social media. You deserve answers and the right tools to thrive.

This is about so much more than an acronym.

I have shared the full story, including what those school reports have taught me, in a new journal on my website.

Stop beating yourself up for what you didn't know back then!

We all make decisions based on what we know, what we have experienced and where we are in life.

But as we learn, we grow. Our perspectives shift, our choices change, and we discover new ways of doing things.

And few people understood the power of growth and resilience quite like Maya Angelou.

An extraordinary poet, author, civil rights activist and trailblazer, Maya overcame immense adversity to become one of the most influential voices of her generation. Her life was a testament to courage, reinvention and the power of finding your voice.

Her words remind us to give ourselves a little grace for what we didn't know yesterday, and celebrate what we know today.

Know better. Do better. Keep growing.

Well, this has certainly been a learning curve!

It is NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK.

Strong, not skinny. Food as fuel, not punishment!

Over the past 12 months, I've gained 10 kg, much of it in just a few months. And goodness, has it been uncomfortable!

But rather than jumping on a diet, I have been asking myself a different question.

Am I giving my changing body what it actually needs?

During perimenopause and menopause, changes in estrogen, ageing and activity levels can influence our muscle mass, metabolism and body composition.

Muscle is so much more important than the number on the scales!

It helps protect our bones and joints, supports blood glucose regulation and keeps us strong, mobile and independent as we age.

So I have been making some changes.

🥚 More protein. My personal goal is around 120 g daily. Do I always achieve it? Nope! But I am becoming more mindful of including protein throughout the day.

🥦 More whole foods. I've always preferred fresh, minimally processed food, but I am paying even closer attention to what goes into my meals.

🌱 More home-grown goodness. There's nothing quite like picking vegetables or just herbs straight from your own garden!

💪 More strength. I get my 10,000 steps in most days, but I am also focusing on building muscle, not just clocking up steps.

❤️ More nourishment. Protein, calcium, vitamin D, healthy fats and colourful plant foods all support our long-term health.

And importantly, I am not demonising carbohydrates. It's about balance, variety and giving my body the nutrients it needs.

I have realised something. My body isn't something I need to fight. It is something I need to fuel, strengthen and support.

And that fits perfectly with this year's National Nutrition Week theme, Love what you eat!

MOVEMENT: Move to build strength, not punish your body.

MINDSET: Strong, not skinny. Food is fuel, not the enemy.

MODIFY: Make small, sustainable changes. Progress, not perfection.

So tell me, what's ONE change you've made to nourish your body through midlife?

When menopause brings you to your knees. Literally!

Today is WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY and I know many of you will relate to what I am about to share.

There was a time during perimenopause when I genuinely thought I might need a mobility aid.

The pain was THAT bad.

My left hip hurt so much that simply rolling onto it in bed would wake me up at night. Now, I have more wear in that hip than you'd ordinarily expect, thanks to years of competitive netball, but still!

My knees? Well, I also have a floating kneecap, but the pain and inflammation became almost intolerable. I would sit with a hot water bottle / ice pack under my knee every night, to try and get relief.

And then there were my ankles. The aching, the inflammation, the stiffness.

At one point, I could barely walk.

What I didn't fully understand at the time, is that menopause can affect our musculoskeletal health too!

As estrogen fluctuates and declines, some women experience increased joint pain, stiffness and changes in inflammatory responses.

And for those of us with existing joint issues, it can make an already challenging situation feel so much worse.

Keep in mind not every ache is menopause, and not every joint problem is arthritis.

For me, finding the right combination of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), physiotherapy and support from a sports physician made an enormous difference.

It wasn't one magic fix. It was understanding the bigger picture.

So this World Arthritis Day, here's my reminder.

MOVEMENT: Keep moving in ways that support your body.

MINDSET: Pain is information, not something you simply have to put up with.

MODIFY: Seek the right advice, explore your options and make adjustments that help you move comfortably again.

Menopause is a whole-body transition, and our joints deserve some love too!

Anyone else found themselves wondering why their body suddenly feels 20 years older? 🙋‍♀️

Safe work is for life. But is it safe for every body?

October is National Safe Work Month, and this year's theme, Safe work is for life, reminds us that workplace safety goes well beyond preventing physical injuries.

It is about protecting the health, wellbeing and future of our workforce.

And that includes something we've overlooked for far too long.

Biology. Particularly women's biology.

Because our biology doesn't magically switch off when we walk through the workplace door, step onto a construction site or open our laptops!

Yet menopause and menstrual health remain largely absent from workplace safety conversations.

Think about it.

🔥 Hot flushes while wearing PPE.

😴 Insomnia and fatigue before an early shift.

🧠 Brain fog while making safety-critical decisions.

🚻 Heavy bleeding or urinary symptoms with limited toilet access.

💜 Anxiety, migraines or cognitive overload under demanding workloads.

These are not simply personal inconveniences. They can have genuine implications for health, safety and workforce participation.

But a temporary change in capacity does NOT mean a loss of capability.

We don't need to lower expectations. We need to better understand the people we employ and create safer, more supportive working environments.

Because the future of work is not gender neutral.

It is biologically informed, inclusive and responsive.

My challenge this National Safe Work Month:
Is your workplace designed to safely support the workforce you actually have?

I have lived with depression for most of my life....

Mostly unmedicated and for the most part, I knew how to manage it.

I had tools. I understood my triggers. I knew how to keep going.

But perimenopause hit differently.

What followed was not just feeling emotional or having a rough patch. It was depression, anxiety, rage, insomnia, night sweats, relentless fatigue and overwhelming thoughts of su***de.

It was frightening. It affected my relationships, my confidence and my ability to function at work.

And I know I am not the only one.

Research suggests women face an increased risk of depressive symptoms during perimenopause, particularly those with a history of depression. Add years of poor sleep, hormonal shifts and the pressures of midlife, and it can become a perfect storm.

A 2025 Australian survey found 1 in 2 women were experiencing mental health issues, with 44% reporting anxiety. And according to the ABS, 778 Australian women died by su***de in 2024, approximately 2 women every day.

We cannot say every mental health crisis in midlife is caused by menopause.

But we absolutely cannot ignore the role it may play.

So this World Mental Health Day, I want to say this clearly:

Mental health is menopause health.

If you are struggling, please do not brush it off as “just hormones”.
You deserve to be heard, properly assessed and supported.

And to the people around us, at home, at work and in healthcare, please listen when a woman says she is not coping.

MOVEMENT: Make the move. Start the conversation.
MINDSET: Build your understanding. This is information, not failure.
MODIFY: Change what is not working. Seek support and make the adjustments you need.

No woman should have to navigate this alone.

If you are in Australia and need immediate support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14. If you, or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 000.

Cancer doesn't wait for a convenient moment....

It doesn't wait until a woman has finished raising her children, building her career, running her business, caring for ageing parents or leading a team.

And the impact doesn't necessarily end when treatment finishes.

In Australia, around 75,000 women were estimated to be diagnosed with cancer in 2025. Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, and approximately nine women die from breast cancer every day.

But there is another part of this conversation we need to have.

Cancer can change a woman's menopause journey overnight.

Certain cancer treatments can trigger early or sudden menopause, including chemotherapy, radiation affecting the ovaries and surgery to remove both ovaries.

Imagine navigating a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery, while suddenly experiencing hot flushes, disrupted sleep, joint pain, brain fog, anxiety, changes in sexual health and concerns about your long-term bone and cardiovascular health.

And then imagine trying to keep everything else in your life moving.

Some women want to continue working. Some need to work. Others need time away. All deserve understanding, informed healthcare and appropriate support.

And for women with hormone-sensitive cancers, managing menopausal symptoms can be particularly complex, because hormone therapy may not be suitable.

This is why we must look beyond the diagnosis and see the whole woman.

This October, let's raise awareness of breast cancer, acknowledge ALL cancers affecting women, and make space for the conversations about life during and after cancer that too often go unheard.

Because surviving cancer matters enormously.

But so does living well afterwards. 💗
