Happy Pastoral Care Week!
Staff have created this beautiful Kintsugi display to showcase the work of the pastoral care team around this years' theme of 'Healing through presence and grace'.
The interactive display invites people to think of a time when they felt broken, hurt, or worn down, and then write a word on a Band-Aid that describes what helped in that instance e.g. presence, listening, hope, gentleness, patience, welcome. This is then added to the collective artwork which grows to create a piece that illustrates a shared experience of mending; held together by the care we give each other.
Kintsugi is the art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Like Kintsugi, spiritual or pastoral care through presence and compassion reminds us that brokenness is not something to be hidden or hurried. Through attentive presence and compassionate listening, we honour each person's story and create space for hope, meaning and connection.
Thank you to our Pastoral Care team for the wonderful service they provide to our patients and families.
