BIG DAY OUT โ MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS ๐
Another month, another stack of adventures! From sunsets and basketball to mystery rocks, massive lemons and the ongoing saga of that bloody cone ๐ โ hereโs what weโve been up to!
๐ธ Weโve been using photo cards to help B communicate, making it easier to express choices and preferences while encouraging independence, dignity and plenty of โI know what I want!โ moments.
๐
More beautiful sunsets down at Glenelg, sitting back and gazing out over the water. Hard to complain about a workday like this!
๐น๏ธ Plenty of fun at the arcadeโฆ because apparently adulthood is overrated. ๐
๐ Getting down to the local park, shooting some hoops and putting in the practice. Weโre not saying the NBA is callingโฆ but weโre also not ruling it out. ๐
๐ Reliving some childhood memories on the big swing at Glenthorne National Park. Some things never get old!
๐ Harvesting some absolutely massive lemons from the tree out the back. At this rate weโll need to start a lemonade business. ๐๐
๐ฝ๏ธ Keeping up appearances at IKEA โ although weโre mainly there for the food! Walking out with a belly full of meatballs (after the bacon and eggs) and not a single piece of furniture. Why would we? Have you seen the instructions for putting that stuff together? ๐
๐ถโโ๏ธ Taking on the walking trails around Happy Valley Reservoir and stopping to watch some impressive carp and Murray cod being caught. Not a bad way to spend the day!
๐ณ Our weekly visits to Zone Bowling on Cross Road continue, with plenty of laughs, plenty of competition and, most importantly, some great friendships being built along the way. ๐ณโค๏ธ
๐ค Walking along the Patawalonga and doing some very serious research into which boat weโd buy if we suddenly became millionaires. Still waiting on the Lotto numbers. ๐
๐ก Exploring the local area and discovering more of Bโs own backyard. You donโt always have to travel far to find something new!
๐ A chance meeting with another Rhodesian Ridgeback at the auction house in Port Adelaide. Naturally, introductions had to be made. Priorities. ๐
๐ Getting out for some night hoops at Springbank High and getting around the local inclusive basketball league. Great atmosphere, great people and plenty of shots put up!
๐ง And yesโฆ the notorious Woodcroft cone made another appearance. ๐ Somehow this cone has developed more personality than most people we know.
๐ก The Royal Show! All the sights, sounds, smells and excitement โ plus keeping up our tradition of catching up with a long-term friend and, of course, taking a spin on the Ferris wheel. ๐ก
๐ Meeting the friendliest neighbourhood cat on one of our trips to the local courts. We may have been there for basketball, but apparently we were actually there to make new friends. ๐
โฐ๏ธ Mt Lofty missions, making our way to the top of the waterfall and taking in the views. Definitely worth the climb!
๐พ We also welcomed a new client and some new furry friends to the Big Day Out crew. Always exciting when the crew gets a little bigger!
๐ชจ We even managed to find one of Adelaideโs famous mystery rocks and discovered a new hiding spot for it. The hunt continuesโฆ ๐
โ๏ธ And finally, a bit of airport spotting at Adelaide Airport, gazing out over the runway and looking forward to the next trip home to see family over the Christmas holidays.
Another massive month filled with choice, independence, community, friendship, fresh air, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of getting out and about. โค๏ธ
And if thereโs one thing weโve learnt this monthโฆ never underestimate a Woodcroft traffic cone. ๐๐ง
Until next timeโฆ wherever the next Big Day Out takes us! โ๏ธ
