I absolutely love tongue diagnosis. 🤍👅

It’s amazing what we can see on a tongue.

While tongue diagnosis is often just one piece of the puzzle, there’s so much more to it than simply looking at colour or coating.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we also look at:
• Where changes appear on the tongue
• Tongue size — is it large, small, thin or puffy?
• The shape — is it wide, narrow or swollen?
• Little marks, cracks, scalloping or indentations
• The colour and overall appearance
• The coating — including its colour, thickness and moisture

Different areas of the tongue are also traditionally associated with different organ systems, so where something appears can be just as important as what we see.

And of course, a tongue is never looked at in isolation. Your TCM practitioner will also consider your full health history, symptoms, pulse and other signs to build the bigger picture.

So this is simply a little reference guide — not a diagnosis. Stick out your tongue! What do you see!?

What do you notice? And does what you see seem to match how you feel? Share below if you're brave ❤️

✨ An exciting update for The Little Acu Co. ✨

I’m incredibly excited to share that Rose Family Chiropractic in Collinswood is now the new — and only — home of The Little Acu Co. 💙

I’ll now have my own dedicated treatment room, which I’m so excited to create a calm, nurturing and beautiful space for healing.

A huge thank you to the Collinswood community for welcoming me so warmly. Your support, trust and encouragement have genuinely made me want to be here more — and have played such a big part in this next step for The Little Acu Co.

And an enormous thank you to the wonderful team at Rose Family Chiropractic for supporting me and helping The Little Acu Co grow into something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m beyond grateful to be working alongside such an extraordinary group of practitioners who are so passionate and exceptional at what they do. Im thrilled to be part of this beautiful family business, and so excited to support our community together. 🤍

At The Little Acu Co, I combine Traditional Chinese Medicine and both Chinese & Japanese-style acupuncture, with a special interest in supporting the whole person — from musculoskeletal pain and injuries, stress and nervous-system support, digestive concerns and women’s health, through to cosmetic acupuncture.

My new hours:
Tuesday: 1:00–6:30pm
Wednesday: 9:30am–2:30pm
Friday: 9:15am–1:00pm
Plus - one Saturday each month

And as we head into spring, it feels like the perfect time for new beginnings, planting seeds and watching them grow. 🌱

I’m feeling incredibly grateful for everything that has brought The Little Acu Co to this point — and so excited for what’s ahead. 💙

Thank you for being part of it. Hope to see you soon!

With love Carly - The Little Acu Co

Imagine a world where AI reminds us to look at natural health first!

So many people still don’t realise just how much acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can support — from feeling tired, overwhelmed, anxious and burnt out, to poor sleep, headaches, digestive issues, hormonal changes, pain and so much more.

Sometimes it’s about supporting the body, calming the nervous system and getting to the root of why you’re feeling the way you do.

And if AI can help people discover that there are other options available to them — I’m all for it. 💙

Maybe one day people will think acupuncture first.

The little things matter. 🤍
These simple practices have genuinely changed my energy, wellbeing and how I feel day to day — and they’re things I share with so many of my patients.

As a Chinese Medicine Practitioner, these are the little habits I come back to every single day. Because Chinese Medicine isn’t just about what we do when something goes wrong — it’s about supporting the body before it gets there.

Warmth. Nourishment. Rest. Routine.
Nothing complicated. Just consistency.

And the beautiful thing? Little things can create big rewards. You don’t have to overhaul your entire life or do everything perfectly. Start with one small habit that feels achievable, and let it become part of your routine.

Your body notices the little things you do for it every single day. 🤍

Which one are you going to start with?

A simple foot bath is one of the most powerful ways to calm the nervous system and bring the body back into balance.

Simply fill a bath or bucket with water over your ankles and one third the way up your shin. You can add ginger, moxa, Chinese pepper, apple c***r vinegar, magnesium or aromatherapy but truth is, its the warm doing the work. Soak for 10-20 minutes before bed.

In Chinese medicine, it helps to draw excess Yang down from the head — which is why it’s so helpful for stress, anxiety, headaches and poor sleep.

By warming the feet, you’re stimulating the Spleen, Liver and Kidney channels, supporting circulation, digestion and hormonal balance.

From a Western perspective, the warmth encourages vasodilation, improving blood flow and helping the body shift into a more relaxed, parasympathetic state.

Simple, grounding, and deeply regulating. Sometimes the simplest rituals are the most powerful.

Enjoy!

Sleep is one of the first things to suffer when your body is out of balance.

In clinic, I see so many people who are exhausted… but can’t switch off.

From a Chinese medicine perspective, sleep relies on a calm mind, nourished Blood, and energy that can settle downward at night.

Simple changes — like warming the body, eating earlier, and creating a consistent wind-down routine — can make a huge difference.

Even something as simple as a warm foot bath can help signal to your body that it’s safe to rest.

If your sleep is feeling off, your body isn’t broken — it just needs the right support 🤍

You don’t need to quit coffee.

But how you drink it matters — especially if you’re dealing with:
fatigue, anxiety, hormone imbalances, or gut issues.

In clinic, this is one of the simplest shifts that creates the biggest change.

From a Chinese medicine perspective, coffee on an empty stomach weakens the Spleen (your energy system) and agitates the nervous system.

From a science perspective, it spikes cortisol, disrupts blood sugar, and can leave you more depleted long-term.

Small habit → big impact.
