Some goodbyes are harder than others.

This week, the reality of saying goodbye to Gabi is starting to sink in, and it’s fair to say there are some emotions around the clinic.

It’s been a wonderful year and a bit with Gabi as part of the Red Centre Health Focus team. We’re incredibly grateful for the time we’ve shared, the memories we’ve made and the part she’s played in our clinic community.

While we’ll certainly miss having her around, we’re also excited for the adventure that awaits her in South America!

Gabi, we wish you a journey filled with new experiences, incredible places, meaningful connections and memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. We hope this next chapter is everything you’re dreaming of and more.

And in true Gabi style, she’s found a beautiful way to leave a little piece of herself with us.

Before leaving, Gabi made the clinic the most beautiful lamp as a parting gift. It’s thoughtful, personal and something the whole team absolutely loves.

Rather than keeping it in one place, we’ve decided it will take turns visiting each of our clinic rooms, giving everyone a little reminder of Gabi.

Thank you, Gabi, for being part of our journey. We’ll miss you, we’ll be cheering you on from Alice Springs, and we’ll always leave the door open for a return visit one day.

Leave a message in the comments wishing her well on her South American adventure. We know she’ll appreciate the love as she begins this exciting new chapter!

GET THIS IN AND YOU GET THE DAY OFF. 😎

No cheating.
Must go between the dumbbells.
Don’t touch the dumbbells.

And somehow… Agu and Gabi actually did it. 👏

Unfortunately, we forgot to mention one tiny detail…

Your clients still need you. 😂

So… congratulations on winning absolutely nothing.

What’s your first reaction to this painting?
WOW. WOW. WOW. 😍
Or… incredible?!

Can you even tell the difference?! 😂

Our incredibly talented receptionist Bre is also an artist, and we are always blown away by her work.

We think she has absolutely nailed Agustin — capturing not just his face, but his friendly, playful, fun and charming personality.

And now that he has officially made it to the wall, he cannot leave! He's part of the furniture!!

We’re pretty lucky to have this kind of talent in our clinic!

🎨 Christmas is coming… and now is the perfect time to arrange for Bre to paint a portrait of someone special.

✨ NEW GYM MIRRORS ✨

It’s been a hard slog getting this space together — and, as with most things in life, not everything goes to plan!

We ordered the mirrors and used the glue recommended for the job… only for them to sadly not even make it through the first week.

But that’s reality. Things go wrong, you regroup, find a better solution and keep moving forward.

So we called in the experts at Neata Glass Alice Springs to give us a hand — and WOW, we are VERY happy with the result. 🙌🏻

A huge thank you to the Neata Glass team for helping us get these looking (and staying!) exactly how we wanted.

Slowly but surely, this space is coming together… and we’re pretty excited about what’s taking shape.

🏃‍♀️ Thinking about taking on a Monster in 2027? This is your sign to start preparing NOW. Entries are just about to open!

Whether you’re taking on the 231km Sonder Monster, 128km Ellery Monster, 65km Standley Monster, 25km Simpsons Monster or 5km Tele-Monster — race day preparation starts long before race day.

And at Red Centre Health Focus, we know that getting you to the start line isn’t just about running more kilometres.

It’s about building the capacity to handle them. 💪

Our team supports runners with:

🏃 Running assessments
🔎 Injury assessment & management
📈 Training guidance
🦵 Strength & conditioning
🎯 Running technique & gait analysis
🔄 Return-to-running programs
🏁 Race-day preparation & post-race recovery

Our running assessments look at the bigger picture — including your injury history, training patterns, running goals, strength, mobility and movement.

Where appropriate, we can assess things like:

• Running mechanics
• Cadence
• Foot strike
• Limb loading
• Hip & trunk control
• Movement efficiency

Because there’s no single “perfect” way to run. Your running technique is influenced by your body, your training history, strength, mobility, footwear and fatigue — and your plan should reflect that.

🚨 Already dealing with an injury but still dreaming of a Monster?

Don’t automatically count yourself out.

With the right assessment, rehabilitation and training modifications, there may be a pathway to keep moving towards your goal.

Your 2027 Monster starts well before race week.

If you’re thinking about entering, now is a great time to get your body ready.

📲 Book a running assessment with the RCHF team.

⚡️ Why use neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) after knee surgery?

Quadriceps inhibition is common following knee surgery. Pain, swelling, and changes in joint input can make it difficult to voluntarily recruit the quadriceps effectively, which can contribute to weakness and muscle atrophy.

This is where NMES can be useful.

NMES produces an electrically evoked muscle contraction, allowing us to recruit the quadriceps when voluntary activation is limited. When combined with active exercise, such as a quad set or straight leg raise, it can help:

🦵 Facilitate a strong quadriceps contraction
💪 Provide additional muscle recruitment when voluntary activation is reduced
📈 Support the recovery of quadriceps strength and muscle mass
🏃‍♀️ Assist progression toward functional strengthening

The goal isn’t for NMES to replace active exercise — it’s to complement and reinforce the contraction you’re already working to produce.

Here’s a look at NMES-assisted quadriceps activation at 1 week post-op vs. almost 5 weeks post-op.
