There are some exciting changes happening with Connections with Horses 🐴
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about where I want to take this work, and I’m really excited about what’s starting to unfold.
I’ll be travelling a bit more over the coming months, so my bodywork in the Armidale/New England area will be changing slightly. Rather than regular bookings, I’ll be doing block bookings when I’m in the area. I’ll post here when I know which months I’ll be around, so keep an eye on the page if you’d like to book in.
Over the past while I’ve also been studying Root Cause Therapy and trauma-informed practices, and I’ve been really lucky to start bringing some of this into my bodywork sessions — with some really interesting results.
And honestly, the more I learn, the more fascinated I become by the relationship between horse and human.
It’s not always just about the horse.
Sometimes it’s the horse. Sometimes it’s the human. And sometimes it’s what has happened between the two of them.
A horse can carry things that show up as behaviour, tension or changes in movement.
A human can carry things that affect how they sit, move, hold their body or respond to their horse.
And then there are those experiences you’ve been through together — a fall, an accident, a frightening moment, or even something that may seem insignificant — that can change the way both horse and human feel and respond, even long after the event.
This is an area I’m becoming really passionate about.
I want to do more around empowering people to understand what’s happening with their horse and giving them practical things they can do themselves.
So, I’m going to start taking this work out on the road and offering workshops around Australia, bringing together bodywork techniques, rider biomechanics and trauma-informed practices.
I’m really excited about this next chapter.
And don’t worry — I’m not disappearing from the New England! 😂 I’ll still be doing bodywork when I’m in the area, just in a slightly different way.
And even when I’m not nearby, please feel free to get in touch if you’re having an issue with your horse.
There’s actually a lot we can do remotely. This can include chatting through what you’re seeing, looking at videos of your horse moving or behaving in different situations, helping you understand what might be going on, and giving you practical techniques and exercises you can work through with your horse yourself.
Sometimes I can guide you through things step-by-step while you’re with your horse, and we can check in afterwards about what you’re noticing and how things are changing.
So, if something isn’t quite feeling right with you and your horse, or you’re stuck with a behaviour, movement or connection issue, please reach out. You don’t have to be in my local area, and you don’t have to have it all figured out before you contact me. Send me a message, tell me a little about what’s happening, and we can have a chat about whether I can help. ❤️
Lots happening behind the scenes at the moment, and I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you.
Here’s to the next part of the journey — wherever it takes us. 🐴❤️
