The Monthly Mixer is a community-led initiative creating relaxed, inclusive social events where people with disability can connect and unwind.

Each month brings something new, shaped by the people who attend. Come for who you know, stay for something new.

💜 Building a community that supports one another 💜

The Monthly Mixer is offering a subsidised Standard Mental Health First Aid course for just $50 per person!

Learn to recognise mental health problems, offer initial support and respond to mental health crises. It’s an opportunity to build your confidence to support the people around you.

📅 17 & 18 November 2026
⏰ 9 am–4 pm each day
📍 Duval Room, Armidale Bowling Club
💰 $50 per person, including course materials and an online Learner Pass

Open to our Monthly Mixer community aged 18+, including people with disability, disability sector staff and management, families, carers and Showcase visitors.

This wasn’t just a busy moment.
This was what the New England Community Showcase looked like consistently throughout the day!

Months of planning, so much work and so much heart went into today. Seeing people turn up, explore the stalls, enjoy the performances and celebrate the talents and contributions of people with disability made it all worthwhile.

To our stallholders, performers, workshop hosts, sponsors, volunteers, planning group and everyone who came along — THANK YOU.
A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
You helped turn an idea into a day our community could share.

The New England Community Showcase is proudly held during Invisible Disabilities Week (18–24 October) — a time to raise awareness, challenge assumptions and champion inclusion.

The Monthly Mixer is also proud to be a business member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative, helping create spaces where everyone feels welcome, understood and supported.

Come along to celebrate our diverse community, discover local talent and help create a more inclusive future.
Because just because you can’t see a disability doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

💜 SENSORY SUPPORT AT THE SHOWCASE 💜

Check out our sensory backpacks! 🎒
Available to borrow on the day to help visitors feel more comfortable while enjoying the Showcase.

We’ll also have:
🌿 A dedicated low sensory quiet room.
🛋️ A quieter seating corner in the Auditorium.
🕑 Quiet hour from 2–3 pm.
📖 Social stories to help you prepare for your visit.
