When a new baby arrives, everyone wants to know how the baby is doing. But how often do we stop and ask how mum is doing? 🤍

Those early weeks and months can be a big adjustment, and it’s easy for your own needs to end up at the bottom of the list.

Sometimes looking after yourself means accepting help with dinner, asking someone to hold the baby while you shower, having a snack within reach or simply telling someone that you need a little support.

You don’t have to do everything on your own, and your wellbeing matters too. 🌿

If you’re navigating the postnatal stage and would like some personalised support, send me a DM and let’s have a chat.

Do you tend to save most of your protein for dinner? 🍳

Including a source of protein with each meal can be a really helpful habit, not just something to think about at the end of the day.

Protein can help meals feel more satisfying and keep you fuller for longer. When it is paired with carbohydrates, fibre and healthy fats, it can also help support a steadier rise in blood glucose after eating.

That might look like eggs or yoghurt at breakfast, tuna, chicken, tofu or chickpeas with lunch, and a protein source you enjoy with dinner. 🌿

Feeling more satisfied after meals may also make it easier to manage those afternoon snack cravings, which can be helpful if weight management is one of your goals.

It does not have to be complicated or involve counting every gram. Start by asking: “Where is the protein in this meal?”

If you’d like some personalised support with your nutrition, send me a DM and let’s chat. 💛

Aches and pains in midlife? Please don’t feel you have to brush them off as just another part of getting older. 🤍

This World Menopause Day, let’s talk about something that often gets overlooked: chronic pain during midlife.

If you’ve been experiencing ongoing joint pain, muscle aches or discomfort that is starting to affect your everyday life, your symptoms deserve attention.

There can be many reasons for persistent pain, so it’s important to get the right assessment rather than assuming it is simply related to menopause.

A natural health practitioner can also support you by looking at areas that may influence inflammation, such as nutrition, sleep, movement, stress and other lifestyle factors, and help you find practical strategies that suit your individual needs. 🌿

You deserve to feel heard, supported and taken seriously when it comes to your health.

If you’d like some personalised support through midlife, send me a DM and let’s chat. 💛

Happy National Nutrition Week! 🥑🍓

Here’s something I’d love you to remember: eating well doesn’t have to mean giving up all the foods you enjoy.

Food is so much more than a list of nutrients. It’s family dinners, favourite recipes, sharing a meal with friends and those little moments when you sit down to enjoy something delicious.

One of my simple go-to meals is chicken marinated in garlic, olive oil and lemon juice with a little salt and pepper, served with a big salad of lettuce, rocket, basil, tomato, onion, cucumber, avocado, capsicum and jalapeños. 🤗

Nothing overly complicated, just fresh ingredients, plenty of flavour and a meal I genuinely enjoy.

Nourishment and enjoyment can absolutely go hand in hand. 🌿

This week, rather than focusing on what you think you should stop eating, think about the foods you love and how you can enjoy a little more variety along the way.

What’s one meal you never get tired of?

This World Mental Health Day, I want to remind you that your experience matters. đź’š

We all experience life's challenges differently, and what feels manageable for one person may feel overwhelming for another.

You don’t need to compare your struggles with someone else’s or wait until things feel unbearable before reaching out.

Sometimes the most helpful thing we can offer someone is a listening ear, a little patience and a safe space to talk without judgement.

If you’re finding things difficult, please reach out to someone you trust or a qualified mental health professional.

And if someone opens up to you today, take the time to really listen. You don’t need to have all the answers. 🤍

Have you ever opened your cupboard and realised you’re taking supplements that you can’t quite remember why you started? 🙋‍♀️

Maybe someone recommended them, you saw something online or you started taking them a while ago and simply kept going.

It’s worth checking in every now and then. What are you taking? Why did you start? Is it still appropriate for you?

Supplements aren’t automatically suitable for everyone, and some can interact with medications or contain overlapping ingredients. If you’re unsure about your supplements, check in with a qualified natural health practitioner who can review them with you. 🌿

For prescription medications, always speak with your GP before making any changes.

Not sure where to start with reviewing your supplement routine? Send me a DM and let’s have a chat.

Enjoyed a few extra treats over the long weekend? Good! You don’t need to spend the next few days trying to make up for them. 💛

There’s no need to skip meals, restrict your favourite foods or jump straight into a strict reset.

Simply return to your usual routine. Enjoy your regular meals, drink some water, get some movement in if you feel like it and carry on with your week.

Looking after yourself is about what you do consistently, not what happened over one long weekend. 🌿

What was your favourite part of the long weekend?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and here’s a little reminder to get to know what’s normal for you. 🤍

You don’t need a special technique to become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel. It can be as simple as paying attention when you’re getting dressed, showering or looking in the mirror.

If you notice a new lump, changes in size or shape, unusual ni**le changes or anything that doesn’t feel right for you, please make an appointment with your GP.

Most breast changes are not cancer, but getting them checked is always important.

Save this reminder for yourself, and share it with a woman in your life. đź’—

Some postnatal days are simply about getting through the day. 🤍

If cooking a beautiful, balanced meal feels completely unrealistic right now, that does not mean you are doing anything wrong.

“Good enough” might look like toast and eggs, a freezer meal, leftovers, yoghurt and fruit, a quick snack plate or simply keeping a water bottle beside you while you feed your baby.

Nourishing yourself does not have to be complicated to count. 🌿
