🌿 Friday Qigong in Bellingen

I’m back from Greece and looking forward to practising together again! A warm thank you to Sophia for leading the group while I was away.

Join us this Friday at 12.30 pm in Maam Gaduying Park, outside Bellingen Library. We’ll enjoy the gentle, flowing movements of Shibashi, followed by Six Unity Qigong.

If it’s raining, we’ll practise undercover.

Everyone is welcome, including beginners. Wear comfortable clothes and enjoy an hour of movement and relaxation.

I’m looking for a few Qigong people who would be interested in testing one of my new online courses.

I’ve recently finished Understanding Qigong Practice and Cultivating Your Qigong Practice, two courses I’ve been developing through Deep Well Learning.

These courses don’t teach another Qigong form. They are designed as a companion to your own Qigong practice — helping you explore and understand more deeply what you may be experiencing through a form you already practise.

I’d like to offer free access to a small number of people in return for some honest feedback about their experience of the course.

You don’t need any particular knowledge of Chinese medicine. You just need some experience of Qigong, a form you can continue practising, and a willingness to work through the course.

If you’re interested, comment below or send me a private message and I’ll send you some more information.

🌿 Monday Evening Qigong

The next Monday evening Qigong practice will be on Monday 12 October, from 5–6 pm, at St Andrew’s Uniting Church Hall, Bellingen.

Whilst I’m away, you’re very welcome to continue practising the two forms we have been exploring together:

Six Unity Qigong

Guigen Qigong

Regular practice brings its own benefits. It keeps the movements familiar while allowing you to go more deeply into each form.

I look forward to returning and practising together again. 😊🙏

A gentle guided Qigong practice.

Qigong returns this evening, Monday, from 5–6 pm at St Andrew’s Uniting Church Hall, Bellingen.

As the light begins to change and the first signs of spring appear, Qigong offers us a way to gently awaken the body, encourage the movement of Qi and settle the mind.

We’ll move at a gentle pace in time with the breath, practising the Six Unity Qigong and Guigen Qigong forms.

New and returning people are very welcome.

The medicine inside the movement. 🌿

It feels like the beginning of spring. 🌱
In Chinese medicine, spring belongs to the Wood phase and is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder organs and meridians.
After the stillness and inwardness of winter, Qi begins to rise, expand and move outward—just as new shoots begin pushing through the earth.
Spring invites us to stretch, open the joints and gently encourage the free movement of Qi through the body.
A beautiful time to practise Qigong beneath the trees.
Join us today for a gentle guided Qigong practice:
Friday, 12.30–1.30 pm
Maam Gaduying Park, outside Bellingen Library
New and familiar faces are always welcome.

QIGONG IN BELLINGEN — Monday evenings.

A gentle guided Qigong practice.

Whether you are completely new to Qigong or have practised before, you are very welcome.

This evening we will practise movements from Six Unity and Guigen Qigong. We move at a gentle pace, in time with your breath, with plenty of time to follow along.

When the movements are new, repetition gives your body time to become familiar with them. When the movements become familiar, repetition gives you the opportunity to go deeper and notice more.

We begin by gently preparing the body, continue with Qigong movement, and finish with quiet sitting.

Thinking of starting Qigong practice?
Over the past year I've been quietly creating something that I hope will be helpful.
It's a free online course called Entering Qigong Practice.
The course isn't about learning lots of movements.
It's about learning how to observe your own practice.
Many people begin Qigong wanting to feel less stiff, less stressed, or simply because they're curious.
Over time, the practice often begins to ask deeper questions.
This course is designed to accompany that journey.
If you've been thinking about trying Qigong—or you've recently started practising—I hope you'll find it useful.
It's completely free.

I'd love to hear what you think.

Why do people keep coming back to Qigong?
Some come because they're stressed.
Some because they're stiff.
Some because a friend suggested they give it a try.
Most expect to learn a few gentle exercises.
Many discover something quite different.
They discover that slowing down isn't the opposite of progress.
Sometimes it's where progress begins.
Week after week, they notice their breathing becoming easier.
Their balance becoming steadier.
Their body feeling less like something they have to fight and more like something they can work with.
I've recently updated my Qigong page to explain what we practise, what happens during a class, and why I've continued practising for more than thirty years.
If you've ever been curious about Qigong—or you've been thinking, "Maybe one day I'll give it a go"—this might be a good place to start.
