I am staying focused right here in my local town this week, focusing my well-being too and sending deeply important lengthy distant healing to someone very dear to me.. (yes, as you are too) who is interstate—just like the energy I gladly send out weekly to most of you guys and clients who ask.

SPRING EQUINOX 2026 - WA’S OFFICIAL “RIGHTO, SUMMER’S COMING” MOMENT

Tomorrow, Wednesday 23 September, is the 2026 Spring Equinox, occurring at about 8:05am WA time.

This is the point where the Sun crosses the celestial equator heading south, giving us roughly equal amounts of daylight and darkness.

And before someone races into the comments with a stopwatch screaming “THAT’S NOT EXACTLY 12 HOURS!”… correct. Gold star. ⭐

Because of atmospheric refraction and the way sunrise and sunset are defined, most places actually get a little more than 12 hours of daylight on the equinox.

Welcome to the astronomical start of spring, WA

So there you have it. Across WA tomorrow, we’re sitting remarkably close to an even split between daylight and darkness.

From here the days continue getting longer and the nights shorter as we march toward the December summer solstice.

For Perth, sunrise is already down to 6:05am, and it’ll be before 6am by September 28.

Somewhere in the Pilbara, 40°C is warming up in the sheds waiting to be substituted onto the field.

Online live this Tuesday
